Very changeable here today, blues skies one minute, then clouded in. Have made five so far so not complaining at all. Still blue here now at 5.10pm so a couple more might hit the spreadsheet yet.

Has anyone noticed the D-registered gliders on FR24 this past 3-4 days? They are miles and miles out to sea, south of Waterford and west of Haverfordwest, D-KAYY is currently showing and there was another one with it a few minutes ago which presumably is now too low to show on MLAT. There were two different ones showing yesterday with D- numeric serials and two more the day before.

After two blank days, cloud finally broke mid afternoon but soon closed in again, nothing made OTT. But LHR have been using 09 and cloud was high enough for arrivals to be visible, so caught up with a few recent deliveries, TC-JJV 777 and B-5942 and 4R-ALN A330s.
Graham - don't believe everything you see on FR24! I checked on D-KAYY, it does exist, it is a Ventus 2cM, but no way would it have been in the middle of the Irish Sea.

Pea souper here but will be sunny once it lifts. Strange about those D-gliders though Jerry, I know FR24 and the other radar sites often show mis-plots but it seemed strange that those gliders have "been" there for three days now, and showing various reggies.
An hour later and it's now wall-to-wall sunshine. Shame it didn't lift a bit earlier as would have potted a Thos Cook A321 and an EZY A320 I need but never mind.

Morning Graham, I'm off out again today... family visits everyday so far!!! Anyway, I was looking on FR24 yesterday and I noticed a 'D8024' (think it was that) which was plotting mid-way across the Irish Sea.... When I clicked on the plot a German AF F-104 popped up... So some real weird things going on of late... But I've seen a number of D reg gliders, for several months now, showing up mainly around Lasham and up towards Oxford way.... Think there are a few based over here now.... Cheers mate. Bill

Sorry to hear that Bob, only thing is, I think my missus has "got a few jobs lined up" which is worrying.....;0) Bill, yes, I've seen those D-reg gliders in a few other locations too, weird....

Thanks Jeff, yes, I could do that but there's quite a bit of glider activity around here from Netheravon and Upavon, quite a few of which I still need.

Nice clear day here from around 10.30 to 17.00 then clouded over, but managed to twist my ankle yesterday (don't ask me how!) so was housebound. Made nothing OTT, was doing paperwork on the computer, but picked up a few more recent deliveries, VT-ANT 787 outbound LHR on 27 Dover departure and, after they switched to 09, TC-JJY and B-2006 777s inbound. Approaching my 1000th 777, should get there this year.

Aahh, you caught EI-FIG Keith, Bob Ooop North posted to say she was on her way south but a combination of dusk cloud forming plus she was too far east anyway meant I couldn't see her.

I've made 2 already this mroning, HB-JVN E190 of Helvetic and EI-UNW B772 of Transaero. Got my RTL1090 dongle, and I must say, for £13 inc. next (working) day postage, nothing bad about it. Alright, it took a few hours to sort everything out, but I did it all before actually recieving my stick, which made it a lot easier. I've got my aerial down in the conservatory, and I still get over Compton way. Well worth it. Dylan

Hi Dylan, I have heard conflicting reports about using these dongles, but it seems to work well for you. Is there much fiddling around to do with the PC to get it running?

Hi Graham, it took a few hours yesterday and the day before to set up, but nothing too extreme. I've had 840 aircraft on today since 00:00, so not bad at all

Lovey day here too, everything trailing, lots of traffic but nothing much of interest. Made D-AIDW inbound MAN a few minutes ago but missed D-AIDX out of LHR around 14.30. The new ANA 777 JA790A is in LHR, due out 19.35, should get a glimpse of it.
Unusually, have seen 4 Delta 744s today, N668/70/73US and N675NW. Unfortunately none needed!

A good evening! First was ET-ASH Ethiopian's newest 787 (delivered 31 March) which went right over head inbound LHR. Then G-RJXL EMB.145 of BMI routing EMA-BRU, only realised I needed this when I checked my spreadsheet a few days ago. N588G newish Gulf 550 OTT, then LHR departures EI-IMU A319 of Alitalia and new 777 of ANA JA790A.
Nothing on the screen at present so will charge up the I-pad!
