Thanks for that heads up Jeff. I usually run by the old terminal when I'm passing but not likely anyway at the moment for as long as Tier 4 lasts. To be honest though, unless there's an incoming plane of particular interest there aren't many spotters to be seen and most keep themselves to the themselves anyway. Not sure it's a great use of Police resource but then spotters are always fair game it seems.

One would guess that the airport authorities want to limit the amount of people entering their property. Spotters seem to be fair game as the press as they are unable to think of anyone else who could possibly want to go there. I remember in the 70s/80s when the IRA were intent on bombing the terminals at LHR we had increased security and even the army with tanks partoled the perimeter. Living close to the airport at the time many neighbours who didn't work at the airport used to use the perimeter as a cut through and were subsequently stopped by the police for trespassing on private property, I believe they got the 3 day producer (driving licence and insurance cert at the local police station) and told not to come back.
