Here's the link - has to be downloaded to read. It took the two airport workers 36 minutes to notice their ladder was missing, in spite of carrying out several tasks after it fell off their truck.

hi, i know it was a very dangerous thing to happen, but i wish i'd been a fly inside the truck cab when they found the ladder missing...oh and inside the managers office, and go on then, inside the mess room... Do you think they will be trusted with a ladder again?.
stay safe, regards, dave...

Not related to Birmingham, but back in 1971 I was an ATCO Cadet at Glasgow. Early morning we had to carry out a runway inspection after contractors had carried out resurfacing work overnight. Discovered a barrowload of empty Guinness bottles on the centreline...!
