As the start towards a life of some normality started yesterday,I met up with Rob Belcher for a chat,sausage bap & tea all following the guidelines as well,we were there from 11.00 until 14.00 and the following aircraft were seen;
Visitors:
G-KDOG Bulldog (painted as XX624)
G-BCWB Cessna 182P
G-CJHT Eurofox (pot)
Inside WAM hangar:
G-AMUF Chipmunk
B-BGGC Bellanca Citabria
G-BOOC Super Cub
G-BSAW PA 28 Cherokee 161
Outside WAM:
G-BNRY 182
In the dip:
G-BYAV Taylor Monoplane
G-RVNS RV4
In one of the hangars there were two aircraft under construction,in front of these was CT2 G-CDPZ which now sports an all white scheme,we asked the bloke who was working on it if he knew if the two new aircraft were registered,he replied that he thought that the Safari was un-registered but the Europa with a tri carriage was registered but he couldn't remember what it was, however investigations carried out by Rob would suggest that this is G-CLHZ.
The cafe is currently open from 10.00-16.00 and is doing a limited menu at the moment and they have adopted a way one system into the cafe with the entrance being opposite the toilets and the exit being the old entrance where the radio was.
Other developments are when you drive down the slope past the three hangars on your right there is now a "Give way to Aircraft" sign just past hangar 3 and they have built a crossing and to the left there are 3 new green pre-fab hangars under construction, all very positive stuff.
Stuff noted OTT & on airways:
G-WPDB Airbus Helicopters H125
G-GEFF Pilatus PC12
G-CKLI PA-28R Cherokee Arrow
G-BZPI Rallye TB20 Trinidad
N708JH Gulfstream G550
04-4133 Boeing C17 Globemaster United States Air Force
KAF342 Boeing C17 Globemaster Kuwait Air Force
It was only a short visit but it was just what the doctor ordered.
