Great piece of film there Chris. It takes a lot to stop the inter-island ferries running in Greece, as you say, Dover would be closed in weather like that. The Meltemi starts to blow from the north or northwest and it usually results in high seas and gale force winds for up to 6-8 days at a time. I remember taking the ferry from Sami on Kefalonia to Pisa Aetos on the west coast of Ithaca a few years ago, similar weather but the ferries still run. Many of then bear a few scars from berthing in such weather though.
