How awful, such a beautiful aircraft, we saw it up close in the RNHF hanger at Yeovilton in June 2018. Thoughts with the crew for a speedy recovery IMG_9602 by Graham Brown, on Flickr

Nice shot Graham. Some of mine at Yeovilton. The aircraft is owned by Navy Wings, a registered charity. With the winding up of the RNHF, their contract with them had already ended and the crash also puts an end to their proposed public experience flights in G-RNHF which would have been a good source of revenue (their other Sea Fury is of course a single seater). They had to raise almost a quarter of a million to replace the engine after the oops at Culdrose when there was very little damage to the airframe so with the engine and the wings torn off the rebuild cost will now be very significant and sadly probably beyond the means of the charity. They are proposing experience flights in the back of the Swordfish which should prove popular (having done the Harvard I will be tempted even though not hands on).
