G-VLIB, Lady Emmeline
‘Lady Emmeline’ will pay homage to the founder of the Suffragette movement and women’s rights activist, Emmeline Pankhurst. As the leader of the WSPU, Pankhurst’s political campaigning was instrumental in securing women in the UK the right to vote at the turn of the last century. We’re also announcing that all charitable donations received on-board Lady Emmeline will be distributed to a selection of women’s charities.
G-VEVE, Fearless Lady
We’re naming the next A350 to join our fleet after Richard’s mum, the inimitable Eve Branson who sadly passed away in January. Eve has been described as “an entrepreneur before the word existed”. Without her there would be no Virgin, as it was when she gave Richard £100 from the sale of a necklace that he was able to start his first venture.
Eve led a colourful life which included enlisting in the WRENS during World War II, taking gliding lessons disguised as a boy and working as a pioneering air hostess on the treacherous British South American Airways routes. More recently, she founded the Eve Branson Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of women and young girls in the Atlas Mountains as well as providing education and health care to those in need.
Fearless Lady and Lady Emmeline will be the first two of our five leisure configuration A350s to join our fleet. We plan to take delivery of G-VEVE in December 2021 and G-VLIB in April 2022.

Do you know by any chance the config of the next 5 A350 aircraft, my guess would be 16J 56W 315Y for 387 total which would be much less than the leisure 744s and about the same as the old LHR 744s!

I see 6 listings for new A350-1000s which could mean they have firmed up the 5th ALC lease option.

The next A350s to join the fleet will be optimised for leisure routes with a different config of 16 Upper, 56 Premium, 325 Economy and a total of 397. G-VEVE will start the leisure A350 operated routes in December.
G-VELJ is in honour of a certain well known piano player/musician, and could just as well of been registered VREG 😁
