My mate and I went to Hungary for a 4 day trip in 2005. The main reason was the European Ballooning Championship at Debrecen, but we took in many other airfields and museums as well, including nipping over the borders into Slovakia and Romania. The trip began with 9 needed at Luton before an Easyjet flight on G-EZKB.

Next stop was a private collection at Alsonomedi. The rutted dirt track to get in knocked our front registration plate off- we'd only had the car an hour! Although we bought some tape to stick it back on this caused us problems crossing the Romanian border later! Many Hungarian military aircraft are painted up with the same numbers - from memory they are marked with the year of their retirement? This makes it difficult to ID some aircraft if you don't see everything! Hi Phil
A few more types for your question marks
01-232 - Bogdola BB-02 05-72 - Jet Star CXMD 5-16 - MiG-15 UTi but is that what you logged? It's Albanian AF so probably not.
I did put all the others into the database but had no hits for any I'm afraid.

Many thanks again! Sadly 5-16 was a Hungarian microlight - I'd much rather it had been an Albanian MiG !
I'll start a new thread for days 3 and 4

Next was one of the highlights of the trip. Another un-pronouncable, Szentkiralyszabadja, where a couple of dozen Mils where stored. All could be seen by driving the perimeter track. I was there in August 2005 and have a slightly different log. I can't remember whether we managed to read them all off. Thanks. Kind regards, Rob Martin

I haven’t logged in for a while! Unfortunately, nearly 20 years on, I’m not sure I can help. From memory we read off some and the rest were from an online list (maybe Scarmble?) As I no longer have the notebook I cant be sure which I read. I do remember that those that we read off matched the online list that we had- but I think we only read about half of them. Sorry I can be more helpful cheers Phil
