hi, there used to be a website Farnborough .... where you could click on old airshows in a drop down box, it gave you a list of participents at the shows, from around 1950ish upto date, which i found more complete than scrambles. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Dave , I know the one you refer to . The site also had visitor lists at places local to Farnborough and was very good during the show week . Some time back ( so I am informed ) there was a disagreement between the owner and other 'informed' persons . Teddies were thrown , users blocked and generally just about everyone found that they could not get onto the site anymore ! It was a pity because it was a very useful site and I think many users were not involved in the situation . Scramble have many show lists and the recently available SEAR/WLAG downloads have some . There is the northolt-FAB site and a Blackbushe one which might be able to help further . Not much help and I will try to find out more in time . Chrisj

hi, thanks i thought it might be something like that, a few good sites in fact, scramble is ok but the earlier reports are a bit iffy as mistakes were made and back then with no internet etc there was not much checking that could be done...thanks again for looking.

Dave , I have not yet finished looking for a suitable site so do not give up hope ! As for Scramble , well , I found that many of the show reports contain only military aircraft although civil were there . Also , I think my very first show was Farnborough 1959 , I have my humble notes and cross checked them with Scramble , Air Pictorial and another . Whilst some were on all lists , in general you would think these were all from different shows ! So If you have to resort to show lists from others , try to get as many different ones as you can . hi, thanks all for trying... i have the some of my early shows as per Air Pictorial where they reported the colour schemes, which was very helpful, but they are in deep storage, but the site i'm after had them all in a drop down box. True the saying "you don't appreciate what you've got, till you loose it"...

No trouble Dave , only too happy to help where I can . I forgot the Air Britain dvds if you know someone with them or , I looked on their used magazine/books yesterday and some are available at £5 each to members and none members which is a lot better than new price . Chris

I, like many others AFA-ers was a member of the old FAB Proboards site until it self destructed about six years ago but I don't recall ever seeing any show lists on there, other than for the show of that specific time. Three new forums came out of that mess, one of which is the new FAB Proboards forum and given the local expertise on there, it's highly likely that someone would have show lists. Worth a try at least...

hi, i'm glad i re-discovered it, scramble's good but is military oriented, and as as been said the earlier reports can be a bit iffy, specially if its only based on one report. so with this one it can be cross referenced...
