Well Saturday came and a further two hit the books before I headed off to Goodison:- 9H-VUF- 737-8200 Malta Air out of MAN (First Visit) G-NJAD- F2000EX inbound LPL Then it was off to Goodison for the first time since March 2020- and although I was gutted at having to miss the Trade Fair at Popham, you could not replace that feeling of going to Goodison and watching my beloved blues again- and we won, which after the first half I was not expecting. Just looking forward now to Sywell and getting back to the Rally. Happy Days Bob

Although the Jet Blue eluded me again today (for the 4th time) it was still an interesting day.
00-0180 C17 trailed nicely and came slightly further south than usual, so was clearly seen. Its sister ship followed a little later but was not needed.
I managed to catch the last of the 4 Beech from Afghanistan, N6366S callsign JAG 22 at 24,000 ft crossing Kent.
Others made were TF-AEW A321, PH-BCG B737 and my last Cathay Cargo B-LJE.

Blank day Sunday, mainly due to weather and going to visit my Niece in Llangollen. Monday was the same weather wise with wind and rain, and overcast skies, but just after 17:30 the wind blew a large piece of blue stuff over Runcorn, and the following two hit the books:- TC-JRP- A321 Turkish AL east out of DUB to IST SP-LNB-E195 LOT again eastbound out of DUB to WAW Today Tuesday is basically the same- even the local spotters on there website appear to have gone into hibernation. Hi Guys,
I was just on the M3 (northbound @ 14.05) approaching the M25 and two low loaders past me heading South, the first truck had the wings and the second had the frame of a Spitfire (couldnāt tell which mark), it had no visible paint work and was like a bare metal or at least light grey colourā¦
If anyone knowās the ID Iād appreciate the details.
Cheers.

Having been otherwise occupied all day, and seen nothing, Chinooks ZA681 and ZH897 have just passed overhead and vanished off ADS-B around Crowborough. 897 was needed, so blank day avoided.

Made one Friday 9H-LMP A320 of Lauda (Europe) inbound LPL, then Saturday it threw it down most the morning, during which time I went to have two new tyres put on my car, followed by a healthy McDonalds breakfast, then a quick trip to M & S and ending up with a cheeky trip to LPL to get needed C525M D-IAFG which I missed yesterday. Also in but not needed was Falcon 7x N626Z. Then it was home to chill, and my beloved blues got a nice draw at Leeds. Happy Days Bob

Sunday started off very grim, with low cloud levels all around the Cheshire area- making it impossible to see anything landing at LPL or anything leaving MCR, but in the afternoon it improved and the following two hit the books:- 9H-MSS- Lear Jet 45 inbound Rw27 at LPL G-OATL- A109 heading south on the low level route. Then it was football on the tele for the remainder of the day. Happy Days Bob

Our holiday this year was a brief visit to my brother-in-law in Devon. Fortunately he lives 5 minutes from Exeter Airport, so time spent in his garden is rarely wasted.
En route, we stopped off at Old Sarum for my first visit to the museum, and the listing of what is there has just been posted on the southern airfields section.
On the airfield itself on 24 August, were: RV9 G-XSAM, C208 G-UKPA and another C208 immediately in front of it - G-OJMP?
On 25 August 2 minutes in the car park at Yeovilton saw just 1 Merlin, āSā, presumably ZJ134.
While my wife was exploring the charity shops in Honiton, I looked up and caught Beluga F-GSTD heading north.
Passing Exeter Airport, B737 TF-BBH was in its usual spot, alongside Twin Otter G-CEWM. Then from the garden, choppers G-DAAS and G-CPAS on emergency services duties.
On 26 August seen from the garden were Twin Otter G-CBML, Phenom F-HJFL and Wildcat ZZ407.
Today the traffic on the A303 coming home was ......ā¹ļø

I think the whole world and his wife are in the far southwest at present, I spoke to a distributor of ours in St Austell yesterday who said the entire place was rammed, everywhere full up, camp sites, touring parks, hotels, B & Bs, holiday lets, everything. One of his van drivers had a run to Camborne, Hayle and St Ives on Thursday, just five drops, took him all day due to traffic when he's usually back by midday and takes out a second load.

Saturday morning and it was wall to wall blue skies- as LPL had been on 09 landings I paid a quick visit to get two biz jets which had landed Friday night then it was home and in my den- my injury had got no better- so my beloved told me to rest for a couple of days saying "you better take it easy as you will be doing a fair bit of walking next Saturday at the Rally" What a wife. Anyway what a day- as the Creamfields event was on at Daresbury near Runcorn- you are always guaranteed a few biz-jets in LPL and when the wind changed to 27 landings the fun began- all in all made 23 cops up to 19:25 last night unheard of in this day and age for me anyway but here goes:- D-AERO- E135 at LPL LX-GJM- Cl350 at LPL 18-0094-A400 Turkish AF southbound N703KW-767 Eastern southbound M-MBLY- Global southbound 9H-QCL- 737-8 Malta Air westbound G-SPTX- F7x southbound N405CB- G550 southbound ZS-EKA- Global southbound 9H-QAC- 737-8 Malta Air westbound OK-BZZ- H400XP westbound OO-SBO- F8x inbound LPL OE-FRM- C510 inbound LPL 2-CAMP- Eclipse inbound LPL 9H-LOI- A320 Lauda (Europe) out of DUB southbound ES-SAZ-A320 Smart Lynx southbound out of DUB A7-BFZ- 777F Qatar Cargo southbound D-CAWO-C560XLS inbound LPL D-IBBB- Premier 1 inbound LPL 9H-FRM- F100 inbound LPL 9H-QED- 737-8 Malta Air outbound MAN N705KW- 767 Eastern southbound 9H-LAR- G150 inbound LPL Fantastic day made even better when everything is trailing and my beloved blues won at Brighton-sorry about the Royals Dave- thought we would have tired Huddesfield out on Tuesday when we beat them in the Worthless Cup- but it's a long season and as the song goes "Things can only get better". Sunday as I type this novel- two already in the book and wall to wall blue again hopefully it will stay like this at least till next Saturday. Happy Days Bob

Sunday was the last day of Creamfields, but nothing of note Biz-wise to add to the visiting total- but the blue skies added another nine to the total- could have been more but a bit of shopping in the afternoon with my beloved was called for as I can't just look at the skies all day can I? OY-GMF- Global southbound YL-AAQ- A220 Air Baltic west to DUB C-GMKS- 787-8 West Jet south N4048J- A321N Jet Blue southbound N729CA- 747-4 National westbound N873BB- 787-8 AAL westbound N218HF- G550 southbound A6-FEH- 737-8 Fly Dubai west to Shannon N963CA- 757 National southbound Today Monday it's cloudy the runways have changed again at LPL a Spanish Biz has just gone in- and I missed a needed Malta Air 737 into Manchester whilst I was making my first coffee of the day. The anti-inflammatory tablets seem to be doing the trick on my injury- but on a brighter note looks like Sywell will be dry -well according to the Countryfile weather forecast. Back to work tomorrow, but only for four days then it's a week off. Happy Days Bob

Hello Bob, weather here in Wiltshire has been almost wall to wall cloud now for four or five days, with just the occasional fleeting glimpse of blue before it all fills in again. The forecast reckons it's likely to stay like this all week so lets hope we get some last gasp decent weather in September before we descend in to autumn and all that usually brings with it. Nature has certainly balanced the books with this year's "summer", a week of steaming hot temps in July plus the odd decent day compared to 2020's summer which was a god send given what we all had to endure. I suppose the best you can say about 2020/2021 is that at least they have flown by.
Trev, the wife's daughter and family live in Worthing which isn't far from Littlehampton, whenever we go down to stay for a couple of days I always make a good few, mainly GA from fields that I rarely, if ever have a chance to visit

Really looking forward to next Saturday at the Rally- when although it is more than likely cloudy, but with no rain, looking at the booked visitors on the Sywell website, looks very promising and hopefully will meet up with a few of the lads. Would have liked to been too a few more places this year but work commitments etc have curtailed the latter and of course the weather. Happy Days Bob PS:- It's wall to wall cloud up here as well today- Happy Bank Holiday Monday
