Hi Folks, As I used to live in Skye, I've decided to post some of the pictures that were taken at the two local airfields - Plockton and Broadford (known as Ashaig by the locals). I thought that I'd start with some of the float planes that used to visit for fuel, these were all operated by the same company (Loch Lomond Sea Planes) and were summer visitors. The strip at Ashaig is 770m long, but no longer very active - there used to be two flights a day to Glasgow. There was much talk of upgrading the facility while I lived there, but the cost I'm pretty sure would be prohibitive and although I'm sure that there would be some passenger traffic - I doubt that there would be anything like enough to make a service viable given the likely upgrade costs. Anyway here are the float planes as promised. G-MDJE in the Cutty Sark Livery, it didn't stay this way very long - the BBC chartered it but insisted the advertising was removed. G-LAUD taking on fuel from a towed bowser, brought in by Loch Lomond Sea Planes. G-DLAK on one of it's many visits during 2014 Hope that these are of some interest. Regards Dave

Very nice. Love the 208 floatplanes- flew on one in Seattle.
Seen the first two at Glasgow, seen the bottom one at Staverton but without floats. Not managed photos of any of them though. Cheers
