Attended the third such event last night but the weather had a say in proceedings, was told that 30+ had booked in but only the following landed in the time I was there which was 16.00-18.30:
G-CITF Aerotechnik EV97 Eurostar G-ATFD Jodel DR.1050 G-BXCA Sisler SF.2A Cygnet G-KDOG S.A 121 Bulldog 120 (painted as XX624) N225RB Cirrus SR.22T G-GBXC Rallye TB.10 Tobago G-BRNT Pierre Robin DR.400/180 G-BPUL PA-18 Super Cub 135
As ever though the BBQ was superb.
On talking to a couple of the staff members, they said that they may be another one in September and then the plan is for them to be held in May,June,July & August next year.
We even discussed the going on's @ Popham last Saturday and they said that they knew it wasn't the regulars but they can't condone their actions which I agree with completely.

There were people photographed trying to undo some of those canvas hangars and someone lying on their back trying to read underneath the canvas (fat chance of getting anything that way),the photos were taken by members of the company that fly the C42's who according to one Popham member last night want to take over Popham for themselves, can't see that happening, not with all the new canvas hangars going up but it does beg the question what if this was a put up stunt in order for them to get their way as apparantly they were ready to photograph as soon as the airfield opened to the public.
Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks Dave.
I guess that’s the issue- someone always goes too far. Admittedly I peered through a few gaps in some of the hangars, but to me there’s a big difference between doing that and doing anything with your hands! As soon as someone starts to pull/push/undo!! something, then damage gets done.
Peering through gaps is something spotters have always done - 99.9% of the time sensibly and with no harm. But I guess the problem with doing even this, is that when there is an issue, we all look as bad as one another and the simplest answer will be to ban everyone from going near them!

Airbourne said that they were going to push airfield management to restrict visitors to the cafe area only, hopefully they won’t get their way. I didn’t enter the hangar area as I could see that they were closed but I have looked through gaps at fields that I haven’t visited before but I make a point of keeping my hands behind my back so that anyone seeing me can clearly see that I’m only looking.

As ever, a tiny minority of halfwits potentially ruin it for everyone. Was it at Blackbushe some years ago where some idiot took a Stanley knife to a plastic hanger so he could read off what was tucked away inside? Insane.
