A beautiful looking airliner from an age when they all were anyway - Trident, BAC1-11, B727...

What a great video and have to agree Graham, there were some classic airliners around at that time.

A gorgeous aircraft though the lovely engine noise does underline how quiet modern airliners are now. About the 727 I was watching the Afghanistan activity on FR24 and saw this 727 flying in and out of Kabul on 27 August. I can't get into Safe Air's site - McAfee is (ironically) telling me it's not safe - so can't find out if this is the only one they fly.

Thank you, Jeff, for the link explaining what the 727 was doing. One has to admire the crew and owners of the plane for flying it into such a dangerous situation and rescuing so many people.

My first ever flight was in a Swissair Caravelle HB-ICT from Heathrow to Geneva way back in 1968. Not my best experience as nobody had forewarned me about turbulence which almost led to flatulence! The return leg on BEA Trident G-ARPM was much better.

I saw 5Y-JIB, one of her two sister ships at Chicago O'Hare in 1998 when she was wearing N203US for Northwest
