What a difference, G-EGAL a Christen Eagle and YA-PIB a B737! I'm sure YA-PIB has been in Lasham before.

Looks like YA-PIB was badly damaged in 2014 and subsequently scrapped. Shame, would have been a top notch pot.

As the lord said, YA-PIB was indeed at Lasham. Photographed her there in 2010 & 2011 and, as Graham said, she was written off at Kabul on 8 May 2014 when she landed long in a rain storm and unbelievably the crew did not select the reversers until almost the far end of the runway which she overran by some 300 meters doing her no good at all. DSC_0825 by dave tompkins, on Flickr Sister ship YA-PIE was also at Lasham where I graphed her a number of times between 2011 & 2013 initially in Pamir scheme then with Ariana titles. She also came to grief after a gear collapse at Kabul in the same year as PIB. IMG_5182 by dave tompkins, on Flickr IMG_9030 by dave tompkins, on Flickr Saw both in their former guise with THY.

Thanks Dave. EGAL has been showing as YA-PIB since early this year with an Afghan Mode S as 70000. It should be 403BC9. Best guess is that it was an attempt to set the UK VFR transponder conspicuity squawk code of 7000 and it was set in the wrong box. You would think someone would have noticed and fixed it by now.
