Hi Folks,
Today we had a JASDF 777 at Edinburgh, Prestwick and Glasgow actually landing at all three. With a single T&G at Edinburgh and Glasgow and a trio of T&G's at Prestwick, the 777 "80-1112" departed Glasgow just before 18:30 and is currently over Scandinavia on it's way home.
I'm assuming that this was a familiarisation visit for the crews, but that's just a guess.
The following are rumours from the mound at Prestwick, regarding visitors - don't have any definite arrivals as of yet.
There seem to be 28 larger aircraft booked for Prestwick, no idea of the disposition of types or dates as yet. Along with 14 smaller types, again no idea of types or dates as yet.
More rumours when I hear them - they are generally from the regulars on the mound and do tend to be fairly accurate.
Regards
Dave Munro

It was indeed a familiarisation visit, as the JASDF do whenever visiting an airfield for the 1st time, or 1st time with a particular aircraft type.

Hi Dave,
Always lovely to see a rare visitor, hopefully you’ll get to see a lot more when the conference opens. Maybe not many Chinese, but you never know….
Fill you’re boots mate and very best of luck.

Hi Folks,
An other heads up on some of the COP 26 stuff.
Parking around Prestwick is going to be pretty restricted, with the spotters going to be mostly confined to the mound at the end of Shaw Farm Road. There is some good news in that they are planning to open the big area beside the mound for car parking, it will be open between 08:00 and 17:00 at an estimate there will probably be parking for around 200 cars.
Also recently reported is that the cross runway will be closed and used for aircraft parking.

The two C-17s at Leuchars were:- "RCH4580" 03-3116, since departed to Stuttgart. "RCH4582" 00-0183, later to Prestwick
The C-17 at Glasgow was:- "RCH4144" 96-0005, since departed to Mildenhall. This unloaded a VH-60 at Glasgow (EDIT 163263. Thanks, Dave).

There will also be COP26 visitors to Manchester. Info thanks to Alpha5 facebook page. Hellenic AF ERJ135 plus a couple of Gulfstream 5's on Monday 1st and a Turkish Govt A330 on Sunday 31st staying until Tuesday 2nd. There is also an Aeroflot A350 on Monday 1st, although I don't think that is COP26 related. I think a visit on Monday is called for.

Hi Folks,
The following stuff is reported at Rome.
82-8000 VC25 USAF K-7066 B77W Indian AF 10001 B744 South Korean AF V8-OAS B788 Sultan of Brunei A39-007 A332 RAAF 2101 A319 Brazilian AF A6-AIN B737 DR Congo AF LV-GHQ A332 Argentina
I suspect most of these will find their way to Scotland in the next 3-4 days.
Some more information to add, it would seem that the main drop off is going to be Edinburgh - with the aircraft relocating to Glasgow, Prestwick and Manchester.
