Used copies certainly seem to command a decent price on Ebay although judging by the relatively small number for sale, those that own them are hanging on to them.

Thanks Jeff for posting this article, I remember my first JP purchase it was the 1972 edition. For me the JP was a real eye opener, compared to my usual yearly book the Ian Allan CAM. The CAM along with the UK register only had foreign airlines that came to Europe whereas the JP opened up the world to me. I did not purchase many JP's due to the cost. Last month at the Gatwick Aviation Enthusiasts Fair, I purchased a 2006/7 edition which celebrates 40 years of publication. It has 748 pages with 84 colour photo's, its like an old telephone directory, it cost me £2 and is in mint condition. I always liked the covers of the JP with photos of multiple lineups of planes rather than individual shots.
Looking forward to more blue skies Howard.

You did very well there then Howard, just been having a closer look at Ebay and there are several editions for sale on there, nothing less than a tenner and a few quite a lot more.

Evening guys,
I never fully engaged with JP’s but over the past decade or so I’ve been collecting quite a few, similar to Howard, but mine came from the Heathrow Aircraft Enthusiasts Fair, next one of which should take place at Kempton Racecourse on Sunday November 14th. Have to admit that I ought to have been able to justify purchasing one each year back in my NWA days - purely based on the aircraft configuration details available for all our competitors… But hey-ho.
Great publication….
Bill
