That's right Bob, Planebase says it was re registered on 12th October although it only has 9H-*** as the reg at present. It'll be changed I expect on the regular Wednesday database update. Very odd reg though.

It was still marked as M-SOZO when I noted it at Farnborough on Friday 15th. It then went into the Gulfstream Hangar.

The interesting thing is the ATC Computers will not recognise an aircraft registration that is longer than 5 characters and also they can be a bit funny with some registrations starting with a numeric character which is why 8P-ASD which is a farnborough regular always files a flight plan as X8P-ASD.....
I have yet to see the ICAO governance for change of registration marks for Malta & San Marino to allow the extra digits or characters
But as people have said this is getting a little out of hand...
Cheers

Cheers Adrian Adrain,
That is not quite right our flight plans can be up to 7 characters/numbers letters, which BAW can get caught out with
eg BAW9710E so have to file as BAW9710,which is all we use,but they may add it in the Field 18 of the FPL as BAW9710E.
The problem with 8P-ASD or say 9M-NAA,is in fact with the FAA's flight plan computor which is unable to process flight plans beginning with "numbers" so 8P-ASD ,always files as X8PASD,but is not a problem with any European system.
Ironically the past history of T7-NGNG G650 DID have worldwide problems when it was registered M-NNNN. I was very involved with getting this re-registered,which was not easy as the owner was Russian !!!
The problem here is in AFTN messages NOTAM or FPL's is NNN means end of message,so any time this Gulstream filed the AFTN (Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network),would stop the message at the registration ,so no unit would get the full FPL.
This goes for D-CNNN C56X but luckily it always uses DCS(and numbers),but can have it in Field 18 of the FPL in the free text.
But as has been said it is all getting out of hand, but ATC can abbrevite the registration AFTER initial contact has been made.
