For reasons I won’t go into, I had to rush up to Durham on Sunday and decided to take in a few fields en route. My first stop was Bagby which I’ve included here to save making two reports. Unfortunately the weather was grey and drizzly, not great for seeing too much action. Most of the aircraft were parked out and I managed to see the contents of two hangars but I wasn’t allowed on the other side of the runway. I have put types by those needed.

AZSW Fuselage, there was another Pup in this hangar but I thought I had taken a shot of it but obviously didn’t.

I moved on to the three fields in the Durham area, the first of which was Fishburn. I was surprised to find over 20 decent size hangars which were all unfortunately closed. Definitely one for a visit in nice weather. There were some preserved aircraft by the control, two of which were civil, (I don’t do military), D-IFSB Dove and BLKA Vampire. There were only three aircraft parked out on the field.

I had plenty of time to get to my hotel so I decided to crack on knowing that there was little chance of seeing much more. My next stop was Wheatley Hill, the home of East Durham Microlights. As expected, there was nothing to be seen but the hangar looked like the home of just weightshift micros or frames that can have their wings folded.
A short distance away was Peterlee, mainly a skydiving field. I could see the para hangar was slightly ajar so I went and had a quick look before returning to my car to look at the map. While I was studying my route, I had a tap on the window and a gentleman asked if I was looking for someone. One thing led to another and it turned out that he was the skydiving pilot and offered to let me look in the only other hangar housing the North East Flying Club so at least I managed to see everything here.

So not a lot to write home about but hardly surprising given the dreadful weather. I did take some pictures so I will sort some out later.
