Was working in Maidenhead so spent an hour or so at WW for the first time in about 40 years. Initial tally reckons I've made about 45 on the field there plus about 15 on LHR approach. Just to complete the log before I post it, can anyone shed any light upon these two beasts please? IMG_2345 by brownieboy27, on Flickr IMG_2344 by brownieboy27, on Flickr

Top one, I suspect is G-BVVG. No idea for the other one.

Graham don't wait another 40 years until you go again- great log there mate. Have to agree with the Lord re the Nanchang code 68 which is based and is G-BVVG. Happy Days Bob

Thanks Bob, WW used to be a regular haunt when I was growing up in Reading, last time I visited I think I was 14. Shame I couldn't read of some of the stuff at the far end of the clubhouse, must have been another dozen or so there I reckon. If I recall, last time I visited, the place was full of Chipmunks.

Nice log and pics. You obviously had access to some hangars but not all as you do not list the various vintage moths based here, my impression was that permission to go airside was normally granted with the proviso that you did not go into the hangars!
This is fairly local to me (about 20 miles) and I visit at least twice a year, but would have made 4 of your log, BVVG, CCJK, IRAK and N982NW.

Hi Jerry, I didn't have any access I'm afraid. What I took is what I was able to see from the fence or the garden in front of the club house. Thanks for the heads up though regarding airside access - I will certainly ask next time, I assume you ask in the controlroom? Thanks

Your first two shots looked as though you were in the hangar, but obviously you have a long lens (as some of your contrail shots prove!)
The LAAS ports of call site which you so helpfully added to the headings shows there are still two Chipmunks based.

Never had a problem with airside access at WW, but you need to be accompanied by a club member
