Very nostalgic Jeff, I started train spotting when I was 7 or 8 and lived in Basingstoke but when the family moved to Reading, I really started to get into it and would often, with a few pals, jump on the train to Paddington on a Saturday morning, buy a Red Rover ticket for the Tube which if I recall was 7/6d and then spend the day visiting all the big stations, usually in a clockwise direction so it would be Paddington - Marylebone - Euston - Kings Cross - Liverpool St - Stratford LIFT - Fenchurch St - Charing Cross - Victoria - Waterloo. That order might be wrong now, it was 50 years ago!
