My pleasure Bob, quite a lot of the cards were left by my Dad when he passed away, and that kindled an interest in me. I never even knew that he was a collector so it came as quite a surprise. He was born in 1926 so much of his collecting dates to the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s. He collected all sorts and left 100s of sets and part sets but I decided to concentrate on transport so have albums full of aircraft, ships, cars, motor racing, motorbikes, railways, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.
It's odd that some sets I have subsequently acquired from those decades are available to buy for as little as a fiver where as some far more recent sets such as the Castella ones above are quite a bit dearer. My theory is that the further you go back in time, the more people smoked so the sets issued during those times were printed in their millions and as such, there are a lot still in circulation.
