A new year has started with the warmest day on record, thoughts usually turn to springtime and holidays but again, we seem to be heading for a confusing year as Covid continues to wreak its worst. Stay safe everyone, get those jabs and lets all hope we can take some much needed time in the sun this year. An airshow programme wouldn't go amiss either....

New Year brings new task- put some shelves up in the kitchen, which had been lying in the spare bedroom for about a month- and which made my beloved very happy when the task was completed- back to work Tuesday- it has been a long boring 11 days off so in a way glad to get back. Quick catch-up since New Years Eve- 1st- A6-EVN- A380 Emirates eastbound F-HTVI- 737-8 Transavia (France) southbound 9H-LAX- A320 Lauda (Europe) west to DUB 2nd- LN-ENT- 737-8 NAS southwest bound to the sun VP-BUJ- A330 Nordwind inbound LPL with PPE SP-RZB- 737-8M Buzz inbound LPL
As I type this and the reason for being up at daft of clock on a Bank Holiday Monday- is another Nordwind with PPE VP-BUH has just gone into LPL. Saw it and it's sister in Jet Airways registrations VT-JWR & U but now in its new registration. I love scrapes.
Happy Days

Having missed the FlyDubai because of cloud, I was pleased that a small gap in said clouds revealed newly delivered Easy Swiss HB-AYQ heading north, then after dark could just make out OE-LZC of Austrian and my last Emirates A380 A6-EVR on long finals for Heathrow.
That just leaves 3 ANA and 4 Asiana A380s not seen. I wonder if all will now be lost causes?

I still need a few Phil, they're Chinese, Korean and Japanese plus the two newest Emirates. Hopeful that I'll catch the Emirates in time but doubtful about the others.

According to FR24 AYQ was on a different route- I know they get it wrong sometimes with routings. Happy Days Bob

I guess we all have our differing takes on our hobby. I count contrails as long as I can see the aircraft either with the unassisted eye or via binoculars. At the end of it, I have very few opportunities to see aircraft up close enough to read the reg here in rural Wiltshire unless Mr Hibberd has his three aircraft outside at Coate...;0)

Only joking Graham, strobe spotting if fine. I wonder if Airbus strobes are a slightly different colour to Boeing strobes.😃

Evening Guys,
Pretty good day today all things considered. But I have one question.
An arrival at FAB this afternoon, 16.41 to be precise, N650GY Gulf 650ER (as shown on ADSB). Can anyone confirm it’s a correct registration? I’ve checked it on the FAA site and it’s suggesting a change of serial to N655FX, but it’s not confirmed whether that’s happened… It was getting towards dusk and I couldn’t read it off.
Any help much appreciated.
Bill

Back working from home for a few weeks due to a Covid outbreak at work, so my first run around LHR for the new year has been postponed Trevor PS not a cloud in the sky this morning!!
