Hi Bill According to Planebase, N650GY became N655FX on 10th December 2021 That was the date on which the new reg was reserved but many US reservations are of course never taken up, or done so some while after the reservation (e.g. when the aircraft is next on maintenance). The FAA still records N650GY as current with 655FX still reserved for it but then again they are notorious for being some way behind. Someone must have eyeballed it at Farnborough but it didn't stay long.

Yes it was a good day. I also got HZ-FAE and HA-LZC, to which I added 2-LISS EA50 and G-DOBS RV8 into Biggin Hill, N631UP B747 heading East, and the star visitor to Heathrow B-17885 Eva B787. I need to check, but suspect LN-FGA B737 of Flyr and VP-BUJ A330 of Nordwind may just be scrapes along with another Ryanair and Norwegian re-reg.

Wednesday was another nice day- with lots of blue skies, after getting home from work after twelve- when I got home I got a text off a mate of mine (non-Spotter) whose house overlooks LPL Airport to tell me that a Red Wing 777 had landed in the morning and was still in- so after my shower headed up to my spot which is also near to his home to catch the said 777 starting to taxi out prior to departure. Anyway that proved to be the start of a half decent afternoon with the following EIGHT hitting the books:- VP-BSJ- 777 Red Wing from Moscow with PPE HA-LVT- A321N Wizz southbound G-LCAG- E190 BA Cityflyer west to BHD G-DHLC- 767 EAT (DHL) East to EMA 2-PAPA- CL601 southbound SP-LVC- 737-8 MAX LOT west to DUB D-AIJD- A320N Lufthansa west to DUB N750GX- Global 7500 inbound LPL Thursday was another kettle of fish- freezing with lots of sleet and rain in work- so not much chance of adding numbers like the last two days to the total, although a Wizz A321N which is needed is due into LPL in the next hour. As predicted Saturday was not a very nice day weather wise- nothing really of interest seen going into LPL although did see the twp PPE laden Nordwind A330's VP-BUH and BUP again inbound to LPL's Rw27. But just when I thought it would be my 1st nil of the year a bit of blue sky appeared and Air Baltic A220 YL-ABF was seen heading west to DUB. I did mange though to get my new LAAS Foreign Registered Aircraft in the UK completed- I say new- it's been sitting in my wardrobe for a couple of months. Happy Days Bob

Evening Guys,
Ventured out yesterday (7th Jan) with an excellent two hours (almost) spent at Lakenheath. Had no heads-up, nods or winks… Just felt like a run out and Holly Guacamole what a visit… Been up a few times over the decades but this was literally The Busiest I’d ever experienced… At one point it was hard to keep up with the landing and taking off of the F-15’s… We logged 25 in total but apparently there were 26 actually active…. Anyway, my log reads like this, didn’t get time to log timings and whether arrival or departure, it was really that hectic….
91-0312/LN 97-0220/LN 97-0221/LN 98-0131/LN 90-0230/SJ 88-1673/SJ
07-7169 C-17 Reach889 (took off from MHZ and transited over XLK)
88-1676/SJ 89-0493/SJ 96-0202/LN 91-0331/LN 91-0302/LN 98-0134/LN 00-3002/LN 91-0310/LN 00-3004/LN 91-0311/LN 96-0201/LN 91-0314/LN 91-0603/LN 01-2002/LN 87-0187/SJ 89-0490/SJ 87-0176/SJ 89-0492/SJ 84-0044/ one of the now unmarked specimen’s, and not flying.
Each one (apart from 84-0044) was airborne, quite a number of these did multiple missed approaches and over-shoots, all of the inbounds joined overhead and as bigger number of those departing did unrestricted take-off’s which included vertical climb-outs with full after burners…. Was like our own little air-show.
All of the locals who were there were as equally as impressed as we were… Great display, thank you USAF….
Cheers Lads.
Bill

Bill,
LN was pretty much like that on Wednesday as well, with the added bonus of 2 (19-5473 and 19-5476) of the F35s. We had unrestricted take offs as well, and low approaches (very low) from the F35s.
F15D 84-0044 was unmarked and flew in the morning. 8 x SJ F15E flew in the morning.

Well the ten day cops run ended Monday when the poor weather and the runway change at LPL did not help yesterday, although my mate did tell me about at Poseidon ZP805 which was doing T & G's at LPL but by the time I got home from work the aircraft was heading out into the Irish Sea and turning right back to Scotland- pity really as it only did 9 approaches. Weather is supposed to be improving again today and hopefully a runway change at Speke, and the Red Wings 777 is supposed to be coming in again, so fingers crossed. Happy Days Bob

Morning all Spent the weekend in London and the Hotel was on the approach to Heathrow, so spent a few hours while the ladies got ready doing some spotting. Last night went through the log of 30 which only produced 2 for the book and one of them was a Scrape YR-MXA B737 Blue Air C-FMIJ B767 Cargojet which unfortunately i first see as F-GHGI back in 2002 while she flew with Air France and then again in 2008 while she was flying with Zoom Airlines. The sea fog has rolled in over night Trevor
