Many thanks 'jargon' . I have tried to differentiate between Wolverhampton (airfield) and Halfpenny Green ( now Wolverhampton airfield) as I have visited both over the years . When I 'joined up' in '63 I went to Cosford for basic and trade training . I arrived mid May and departed November '64 . Many of us got bussed to Tern Hill both years for the B of B shows . We were supposed to sell programs but I recall that mine 'disappeared' so that I could get on with spotting . One year we were sent to what was known as Wolverhampton airfield for the show . Just to be there ! Among the based and visiting aircraft were a Beverly which was both static and in the flying display - also available for us to climb over in and out ! I had visited the airfield previously and recall the short entry road passed the B & P factory but do not recall any aircraft in side . The place looked a bit run down but at that time many GA airfields did - Red Hill and Biggin were very run down then . so thanks to you I can now change my records from Wolverhampton to Pendefold . The houses were quite close by so I can see why someone wanted it closed . It was friendly and I was able to wander as I wished . Thanks . Chrisj
