Great short video Graham- takes me back- just trying to work out what the Britannia/CL44 was over at the freight when the VC10 lands. Thanks for sharing. Happy Days Bob

Another great find Graham - I well remember those days when I wouldn't give a Trident a second glance - having seen the bulk of them on the Hatfield production line back in the day but oh to see one flying now!! Unlike with steam engines going live from the knackers yard, there's no hope of seeing one of them flying again. Heyho!
The VC10 in my view was, and still is the best looking airliner ever - totally over engineered and safe and robust. My first flight in a VC10 was out of Brize in 1970 with the Air Cadets. We got to FL44K which I think is probably the highest I've ever flown in an airliner. Never flew on a civvie varient but plenty of hours on RAF VC10's where the seats were all facing rearwards for better safety. Cheers Keith

I think that the Britannia mentioned was operated by Tellair a short lived Swiss company who operated a couple of ex British Eagle aircraft.

Ray (Cornwall01) Thanks Ray, Found a picture of the Brit G-ARKA with the same colour scheme. I saw her ops for British Eagle it was scrapped in 1969. Great memory though mate. Happy Days Bob

Bob, for me it's a dead heat between the VC10 and the B727. Both in my opinion fabulous looking airliners, I love the way the B727 has a slightly nose down aspect when she's sitting on her u/c but then the VC10 has those set back wings and four engines at the rear. Lovely times that I'm glad I was around to appreciate

Incidentally, checked to find I'd logged the Brit at LGW 29/10/70
