Good day for you Graham- I looked at the TAS arrivals and out of the lot needed four which you have listed the Ethiopian and Cathay A350's the VLG A320N which I saw from home and the SAS Neo. I had all the Turkish- so not really worth a trip out for me- but obviously for you a great day. Gutted I missed the Aussie C17 and the all the 7's biz- but that's life I suppose. Looking forward to the pictures though. Happy Days Bob

Luckily the Ethiopian was about 2 hours late, so arrived after I was in postion, it was a first visit, but I had seen it before at heathrow 9H-CLG CL850 Air X Charter EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr 9H-LOS A320 Lauda Europe EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr 9V-SMR A350-9 Singapore AL EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr A6-EEW A380 Emirates EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr A7-BAP B777-300 Qatar AW EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr B-LXH A350-10 Cathay Pacific EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr CS-TNS A320 TAP-Air Portugal EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr D-AIDB A321 Lufthansa EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr D-AINV A320N Lufthansa EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr EC-NEA A320N Vueling EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr EI-GPO ATR72 Aer Lingus EGCC 03Apr22 by Graham Taylor, on Flickr ET-AWM A350-9 Ethiopian AL EGCC 03Apr22 (2) by Graham Taylor, on Flickr F-HBLG ERJ-190 HOP! Hopefully it's not just a one-off event, and I hope this transfers down south to LHR, at least on some of the SAS flights, as I'm sick of these Irish ones. Consequently I need a lot more of the 'real' ones!

hi Graham, great photo's, i have not been southside since before the 2nd runway was built, usually go in by train then to the multi car park. Thought about a sunday pm visit to the AVP but no dogs, so thats a no no, he would never forgive us... So thanks to your photo's and report that brought to mind the southside, can you give directions to your spot?
regards, dave...

I always visit by car and park at the junction of Moss Lane and Altringham Road, were there is a small car park. I then walk west down Altringham road (gated deadend) until you get to the runway, continue on the path until you see a small gate in the hedge on the left (marked southside view point on google maps). I think there may be a bus to Styal or a bus to the Airport Inn on the A538. Just before you go under the runways, the path to the viewing point heads east from the roundabout. Google maps shows the area.
Hope this helps

Hope this helps Graham GTF4J2M When I have visited the south side I go a different way to Graham -from the M56 instead of taking the lane straight onto the airport:- Take A555 to the end- At the traffic Lights and the Shell garage turn right Go past the garden nursery which is on your right. Turn right down Moss Lane Stay on Moss Lane till the road bends to the left by the crash gate About 500 yards up the right just past a couple of buildings is the footpath which leads to the viewing area. There are or was a few places to park your car outside the path or a little bit further up the road. If its raining take to wellies because it can get rather muddy Never used to stay long because did not like leaving my car there for too long. Have used that area by the gate on Wilmslow Road Graham - but it was a long time ago when the A380's first started coming into MCR- but there were that many people parking there the Police were ticketing everyone. Plenty of grass on the footpath for the dog/s Dave. Happy Days Bob
