Andover, I went last year on the Saturday stayed on the Friday night at the Premier Inn at Evesham Country Park, which is not far from the location- we were blessed with a gorgeous day and we stayed till the evening launch- making our way home to Runcorn that night. Don't know much about the camping side of it, but I have bought tickets for the Saturday again this year and have booked accommodation in Alcester a few miles away. We have also booked parking nearer to the gate to save walking a long way. There is a charge for that parking, but you can park in general parking and walk down to the venue. Toilets were very clean (Portaloo's and plentiful) also lots of eating hokey wagons etc. Phil (ZZ) goes most years and Keith they maybe able to give you extra info- but with ballooning its like most events its down to the weather. Happy Days Bob

We have booked the normal parking. Will do Friday pm and both Saturday slots, will only do Friday AM if the others are looking dodgy. Looks like a good turnout. Rob

For me it’s definitely worth it- as long as you get decent weather! I’ve been each year that it’s been on and it’s always been lucky with the weather. If you’re into balloons- mass launches, special shapes and old balloons being tethered, then it’s fast becoming the best meet in the UK (alongside Longleat). There is also the airshow, which this year again features the Red Arrows, as well as the BBMF plus a dozen or so warbird or civil types. There is also a small night airshow which is impressive, and a balloon night glow. Currently, I’m intending to go all 3 days again and stay at Birmingham airport. That’s about a 30min journey but obviously I get to see the Birmingham movements too! If the Jubilee flypast on Thursday 2nd June looks worthwhile and clashes, then I may miss the Thursday at Ragley Hall. Below is a link to the balloons that have currently been announced for the event www.midlandsairfestival.com/hot-air-balloons.htmlThis is a link to the airshow participants- www.midlandsairfestival.com/air-display.htmlBelow is a link to my photos for last year aviationforall.proboards.com/thread/16805/midlands-air-festival-2021-photoPrevious years, and Keith’s photos are in the Ballooning threads. So for me it’s a definite each year and worth the fee for 3 days. Come the year that the weather is crap, and people pay about £70 to see nothing, then the public won’t be happy….

Rob HI Rob, Hopefully the weather will play ball- I will be heading down for the morning launch before returning to the accommodation for breakfast before going back at a reasonable hour. Hopefully will see you and Dave there- either on Saturday morning or during the day. Happy Days Bob

I’m going on Saturday again and we are camping in our motorhome about 20mins away. I looked at camping on site for three days and it was eye watering, with entry tickets as well,(charged separately!), it came to over £300 pounds. We only paid £240 each for a week in Turkey! If Kay came as well add another £65. Having said that, it is a brilliant show/meeting.

Many thanks for the kind updates, is the access and exit easy or a bit of a faff?

Finally got my tickets and hotel booked. Plan to watch the Queens flypast in London at 1pm on the Thursday then head to Ragley Hall. Then stay Thursday afternoon/evening, all day Friday and Saturday morning!
Fingers crossed for good weather!

Having watched flypasts at each of The Mall, Trafalgar Square and the Wobbly Bridge, I thoroughly recommend the bridge. You get to see them approach, then have side on view. That’s where I will be!

Thanks i’ll be planning for somewhere with a quick escape route to wherever my car will be- probably either Heathrow or Northolt to rush up the M40 to Ragley!

If your car is at Northolt, a short walk from the northern end of the bridge takes you to St Paul’s Station on the Central Line and straight to Northolt.

Thanks Phil, Yes that’s one option we came up with. Wondering whether to go with that or watch from Waterloo/Westminster area, or else one of the parks where we’ve watched from before. Again, we’ll take into account where we’ve been that morning, where the car is and quickest possible escape route to Ragley! Cheers Phil

Just checking the weather for Ragley and on Saturday morning rain is predicted, but Friday night looks ok and so does Saturday night but fingers crossed things can change. Happy Days Bob

May nip up on Friday night for the balloon launch as we are not far away from the site- as I only have a ticket for Saturday where can you view the launch from in the evening- can you get up to the car park? Keithh said he viewed from outside last year as like me he only had Saturday tickets. Would appreciate any guidance. Happy Days Bob

Hi all
You can drive to the car park without a ticket and park up so depending on the wind direction you might be able to see some activity from there.
