Yet another day of wall to wall sunshine, had a load of outside jobs to do and there was a lot of GA about so ended up with this nice little haul. The Air Canada MAX was a nice one as she went across to my north outbound from LHR. Ryan's MAX means I'm currently up to date with their MAX deiveries.

Sunday ended up being a half decent day cops wise, albeit mostly overcast but with high clouds, earlier bit of blue stuff allowed two to enter the book, and with Manchester being on 05 another five hit the books making 7 in total. Getting used to it now- as its happening every week. Monday start of another retirement week and its raining. Happy Days Bob

A day of two halves, AM being warm with variable cloud, then from about 1230 on, it went terribly wrong. Caroline took the mutts out at 3pm whilst I was cooking a roast and came back rather bedraggled as were the pooches.

Almost nothing worth watching on TV last night so we hit the hill after Gentleman Jack and were woken at 1150pm by a huge clap of thunder followed by a torrential rainstorm. The noise from the rain was made worse as I had put heavy duty plastic membrane down on the front garden about two weeks ago ready for some gravel. The rain and thunder went on for 35 minutes after which it all settled down again.
Today looks like being wet until lunchtime, then clearing up with the rest of this week looking pretty good and very warm.

Hi Folks,
Sorry for my recent absence but have been in the States for a couple weeks doing a non-stopping spotting tour… (did I really mean that!!)…. Yes.
I’ll be making a full report but to get your juices flowing this was the itinerary, which was manic, but very worthwhile.
May 2nd - flew Virgin Atlantic LHR-SEA. On arrival we picked up a car and did a quick sprint to Renton and Boeing Field. We then had 3 nights at the Doubletree at SEA, great location to spot from.
May 3rd - we visited Bowers Field, Ellensburg on the way to Moses Lake. Here we did a fly-over in Ce172 N4887G to see the huge number of stored Boeing’s Max’s which was a complete success. Being a 3 hours drive (in each direction) we didn’t stop anywhere else but returned to SEA to get the commercial traffic.
May 4th - started the day at the Kenmore Air facility to see dozens of sea planes (if you ever get to SEA, just do it). We then went back to Boeing Field for the Museum of Flight plus the very large collection of Boeing aircraft.
May 5th - time to move on this time with Delta, heading to Tucson. We spent the whole day rummaging around TUS for more stored aircraft, quite a lot of biz jets and active F-16’s - who blessed us with a lot of activity.
May 6th - we started very early, drove out to Ryan Field where we’d arranged fly-overs for Davis Montham and Marana. N21272 Ce172 was our chariot. What an amazing trip this was… Conditions were superb, beautiful clear sky, very little turbulence and approval to orbit around DM with the only proviso to stay at 6,000ft… Having recovered from that excitement we then drove back to DM to see the scrap yards and the Pima Air Museum… Incredible day.
May 7th - we started the drive north to Phoenix with stops at Eloy (never seen so many Shorts Skyvan’s ever), from here we went to William’s Gateway at Chandler, Mesa Falcon Field with the Commemorative Air Force museum and then onto the Crowne Plaza at PHX.
May 8th - there are a number of airfields in the Phoenix are, we started at Scottsdale, Deer Valley, Goodyear then back to PHX…
May 9th - we were then off with Southwest to Orange County John Wayne’s airport. Another car and we started the Southern California leg of the trip. Orange County was amazingly busy, then onto LAX where we stayed at the Embassy Suites (south) which has great airport views.
May 10th - we spent the whole day at LAX…
May 11th - we started at Ontario, then a quick stop at San Bernardino and then back into desert country to Apple Valley where our third over-flight of the trip was awaiting our arrival. This time we flew on N739HZ Ce172. Apple Valley to Victorville was a very quick transit but sadly, on this occasion, was a very bumpy ride… Anyway, Victorville had another huge collection of aircraft stored. From Victorville we drove across to California City to see the stored Gulfstream’s, Magister’s and a solitary Bae 125. Mojave was our next stop, with a good variety of stored aircraft. Burbank was our last, unplanned stop - as we had a puncture, so had to get the car exchanged.
May 12th - our last full day in California started with Van Nuys, because of the previous days unplanned Burbank stop, we then decided to pop over to Hawthorne.
May 13th - spend final day at LAX before our flight home courtesy of Virgin Atlantic….
I’ll try to load my logs but, to be quite honest, it’s going to be thousands of registrations - if you’d like to see them I’ll try to load them from ADU once I’ve finished entering the…
Hope you’ve all had a great couple of weeks. I’m exhausted.
Bill

A quiet day at home yesterday which saw just two frames hit the logs, albeit two good ones including my last Malta Air MAX. It was our 24th wedding anniversary yesterday, doesn't seem possible, the day we were wed in 1998 was so hot, all the great aunts were stood in the shade of a large oak tree in the grounds of Devizes Registry Office. Time flies when you have fun as they say, I'd waited a long time to find this special lady and the years are just whizzing by. The frightening thing is that had I been married to my first missus, it would have been 43 years this September and I'd still be in Belmarsh serving a life term....;0)

Dave, sounds like what we had yesterday, although still very warm and sunny, this huge southwesterly blew in from around 4pm, a warm wind which was akin to being on Crete when the temperatures are in the 30s with a Sirocco blowing up from Africa, but without the sand it dumps all over the island.
Graham, we heard a load of Blackbirds chirping angrily about 7pm yesterday, it seems they have a few nests in the Rowan tree we have in our back garden and there was a Magpie sat there in the same tree which was causing them a great deal of alarm.

Catch up for the first three days of the week- Monday and Tuesday were very indifferent weather wise, with quite a bit of aqua and very windy, but Wednesday morning was very good until just after 11:30 when it started to cloud over but did manage a few heading for Seville for the Eintract (Frankfurt) v Rangers UEFA Final. But did manage to cut my grass:- MOND-ACCC- Global westbound TC-LTG- A321N Turkish west to DUB JA876A- 787-9 ANA southbound TUEN175QS- G7500 southbound OE-IGG- Global XRS westbound OE-LEM- Global 6000 westbound WEDEI-HMX- 737-8M Ryanair out of MAN LZ-LVK- 737-3 ALK south to Seville EC-NLJ- A321 Privilege south to Seville OK-TSS- 737-8 Smartwings west to DUB 9H-GTC- 737-4 Air Horizon south to Seville EI-HGM- 737-8M Ryanair out of MAN CS-TST- 767 Euro Atlantic south to Seville OY-ASA- 737-4 Airseven south to Seville 9H-CRI- 737-8 Luke Air south to Seville F-GRXB- A319 Air France out of MAN 92-0051- C130H USAF west Then the cloud and rain came- but on a brighter note my beloved has finished her treatment- so no more Motorway drives up to Clatterbridge for her treatment- only follows up now and of course an injection every six months for two years for prevention of Bone Cancer.
