Thanks Bob, the first C-130 did a big circuit of Boscombe Down prior to landing and came within 15 miles east of home.

I've not been to Boscombe before. Are there any viewable spots to see the C130s from?
I'm travelling back from the west country on Friday and wondered if worth dropping by (that is if they're still there if course).

Posted on FC this (Wednesday) am, please see below...
At 07:00 this morning x2 on main north ramp. X1 tucked away behind the mound on the north side. Two on ramp 036 & 747 with 730 behind the mound. Most of 730 can be seen from the south if you drive south down Allington Track towards Allington.
..
There was talk of them being towed to the helicopter hangar to unload....would be more visible from Allington track.
Good luck.

MTIA Tony Hi Tony, As Andover described, at 07.45 this morning all three were very visibleā¦ The Allington Gate, or slightly beyond all three can be seen easily. They may of course be moved by Friday but currently in a good position. Best of luck. Bill

Reported on FC that, at 19:00BST this evening, all three are still in their original parking positions (as above).
However it is rumoured that they will move for unloading tomorrow (Thursday) - to the helicopter hangar apron on South side.

Called into Boscombe Down about 12.30 today. The Hercs were all in the positions as described, meaning only the tail of 730 was really visible as you walked down the fenceline. But whilst I was next to the fence at the top of the bank, as close to the aircraft as I could be, they thoughtfully pushed the aircraft back out from behind the revetment. They turned it around and then pushed it back into position, but it meant I got a close view of the whole aircraft.
Also needed were-
ZM701 AH-64E (from ADSB) G-ETPM DA.42 G-ETPN A.109
Seen but not needed were-
G-ETPB PC.21 G-ETPF H.125 G-ETPG H.125
A Merlin was also pulled out from a hangar onto the apron on the north side, but couldnāt read it off.

Thanks for the updates chaps. Dropped in this morning (10th at 0930) and from Allington Track, 2 in full on the ramp, the other just tail visible above the mound.
