Our second to last stop was BHX where a good few were made despite only a couple of biz. Disappointing to drop the Emirates frame as I'm still chasing quite a few of their T7's,however I did get a few nice shots of her take off which I will upload within the coming week or so...

It's getting harder for spotters at the old Elmdon airport lately, especially if you want to get any ground level photos. I last dropped by on 16th. I notice EC-KTG was registered to Hans Airways Ltd as G-KJAS on 18th August so looks as if it hadn't been painted on as of 20th.

Any update on the multi storey car park Deke/Dylan- zz said it was free the last time he went and if it wasn't he would have been expecting a fine. Happy days Bob

On 16th I parked on the slip road adjacent to the old terminal, it's been fine pulling in there for years. However it has now been cut down by new barriers and I was a little unsure as mine was the only car there but it was Ok for the short time I was there. The multi story which has been mostly empty before was full of cars this time so it seems it is being used by on site workers, I assume payment is working. I didn't check on the machines though so not 100% sure. The stairs to the top floor were still taped off. The ground level views from the crash barriers or the road are now completely obscured by site vehicles, machinery, and the newly erected building which I think is a reception for biz passengers. One thing seems certain is they are not doing anything to encourage the harmless spotters and photographers.

Happy Days Bob hi, well remember that spiral staircase, and the big car park overlooking the apron, i even dared going into the building a couple of times to the observation deck/lounge... there you go you've put me into memory mode... i climbed the stairs one time and there was EI-AMR in all her glory sitting in the sunshine... regards, dave...

Manchester has always supported spotters with the viewing area- but it is a money spinner- pity LAP lost the Queens Building. The spiral staircase is still at Elmdon but is shut off now. Aer Lingus Carvair EI-AMR dave- now your talking proper spotting days. Happy Days Bob

When I visited Kemble for the first time in ages earlier this week, the powers that be have now installed six feet high opaque green sheeting along the chain link fence that overlooks the Belfast scrapping area and erected "No Parking" signs. Granted, it is close to a crash gate and I have seen spotters parking right by the gate while they walk back a few yards to get a shot. As usual, it's the halfwits that ruin it for everyone else.
There's also a new metal fence encircling the carpark/tarmac-ed ground to the side of the Iron Mountain warehouse which is a couple of hundred yards along from the entrance by Belfast area. It's always had a "No Admittance" sign there but as I'd imagine that space gives good views across the field, I've often seen spotters in there who choose to ignore the signs.
I have to say that the BA B747 on display is very impressive and the adjacent carpark is now marked up properly into parking spaces.

Pretty much Dave, you'd need an up to date list to id all in the scrap compound, there are several TAP Airbuses adjacent to the A429 as you pass northbound. The only stuff I don't think you id from the layby is the rest of the TAP stuff parked over the far side but you never know. If you drive in via the Jackaments entrance on the A433 and park in the AV8 carpark, they will all be readable
