Hi All , from time to time I try to get my old Kinetic SBS up and running but usually end up putting it away again . I would like to get it running again but would need a suitable program to convert the hex codes so that the display shows registration/serials . This used to be a function of the Gatwick Avn. Society ADS Light but that is no longer available . I understand that Plane Base can do this but may require some knowledge to get it running smoothly . So I ask , Is there a relatively easy program available ? It would need to be similar to the GAS ADS Light in ease of use . I had obtained a copy of ADS Light but when I try running it I get a caption saying that a file or similar , is missing . Now this could be a link to GAS as their database provided the code to registration conversion . Does anyone have any thoughts on this please ? Thanks . Chrisj

Hi Chris.. I had the same problem about 3 years ago and found ADU software . I cannot say if it is the best option but John there was so helpful and took over my laptop while i watched him putting everything on. I now pay a small fee annualy which gives me very regular updates of new registarations . Google ADU Software and you will get all the details you need. Hope this helps..

Many thanks 'chalkboy' , I shall have a look into this . It always seems a shame and waste to me , that the old SBS box just sits about so I shall try to get it running again with your help on this . Thanks again . Chris

Hi Chris, I'm using planebase to update my SBS, its a separate program that comes with the database and can also be linked to the database which gives you the option to only show needed reggies or frames on your sbs screens. Seemed quite easy once you have pointed the program to the right file.😊

Thanks Jeff . I do know of PB performing the required task . I was a user of PB , but only for confirming c/n and so on . It was free but a charge was being added and at that time my use was very small so I arranged to put it into limbo for a while . Now , depending on cost , it may need to be brought back to life . Thanks again for the reminder . Chris

Hi Chris, PlaneBase is now £40 a year which in my opinion is well worth it. Subs always used to be optional but it reached the stage about two years ago where only 25% of users coughed up to use it so the developers had little choice but to introduce mandatory subs so that they could fund the ongoing programme. You get two updates per week and although I don't use it with an SBS, I find it superb as a logging tool and info database.
