hi, a news item just seen,
Heads of state travelling to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral will be forbidden from travelling in private jets and helicopters, according to leaked guidelines.
Foreign dignitaries and their spouses have been asked to travel to Britain on commercial flights, according to Foreign Office guidance seen by Politico.
Only heads of state and their partners will be invited to the ceremony, according to the guidelines. It is not clear if former heads of state will receive an invitation.
In the document, sent to overseas embassies late on Saturday night, the department said it “regrets that, because of limited space at the state funeral service and associated events, no other members of the principal guest’s family, staff or entourage may be admitted”.
The document reportedly warns leaders restrictions could be imposed on their use of official cars.
regards, dave...

May be wrong but I understand that the prohibition on private jets applies only to Heathrow due to inability to arrange adequate security. Gov't suggestion is for use of commercial flights or the use of private jets to alternative airports in the UK. Helicopters are banned from the London area.

hi, Anthony Albanese has refused to take a commercial flight to London for Queen Elizabeth's funeral - despite the British government urging world leaders to do so.
The Australian Prime Minister has instead confirmed he will Royal take Australian Air Force's VIP jet for the flight on Thursday, accompanied by his girlfriend Jodie and his Governor General and his wife.
well he's the first... regards, dave...

I have no idea of the protocols but I've read that all surviving US Presidents would like to attend the funeral of QE2. Maybe that's the press overdoing it a bit and even if it were true - it probably wouldn't be sensible for them all to fly over on AF1.
