hi, whilst the weather is ****, i searched for the Ford, this USNI report...inside the USS Ford on 2 month shake down cruise...or as they now say a stress test. news.usni.org/2022/10/24/usni-news-fleet-and-marine-tracker-oct-24-2022it tells about the carrier's new tech, mentions carrying 60 a/c, which is 80% of total, and will be every type to be used on a carrier. Also the tracker tab shows where the carriers and info on the CAW's. Fingers and toes crossed the visit will co-operate with the easing of the rail strikes... regards, dave...

According to Seawaves, the carrier is due in on the 14th but this may, of course, change. Now's the time to watch out for the boat tour announcements and put the kettle on!! seawaves.com/latest-ship-arrivals/

hi, just had a look on Gosport ferry website, and it only shows Tue + Wed, so i expect Mon. uncertain when she arrives, and i suppose Thursday what time she leaves... so its Wed. for me, looks like the trains are playing ball also the weathers half decent...oh and with 60 aircraft on board, perhaps a few below, so it wont be a crowded deck to id them...

As usual, the carrier will have accompanying ships from its task group. These seem to be 3 guided missile destroyers which each have the capability to carry 2 H60s (USS McFaul, Ramage & Thomas Hudner); ammunition ship USS R E Peary; fleet replenishment oiler Joshua Humphries & the Coast Guard cutter Hamilton which can be helicopter equipped. The Navy have advised however that not all these ships will be berthing at Portsmouth next week but it might be worth a look at the dockyard.

Just noticed on FR24 a C2 greyhound inbound Southampton 162164 callsign 'RG03'. Backtracking the plot on FR24 it came from the ocean to the west of Vigo.
So, on its way then !

I noticed on a flight tracker app that an MH-60 flew in to Newquay yesterday from a ship in the channel so this may be connected. The MH-60 serial was 168164.

I found out today that all big ships for either Portsmouth or Southampton have to enter from the East because of a large and very shallow sandbank to the west of these two ports.

hi, didn't a container ship or car transporter, run aground on that sandbank, or was beached on it 2 or 3trs ago...

hi, whilst the monsoon passes through, i've been following the posts on FC, there's still one or two serials to be confirmed, but a excellent deck plan has been produced, www.fightercontrol.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=355&t=224969&p=1462741&hilit=gerald+ford#p1462741 credit to 747woody and FC... and at the moment the latest tie up of serials, VFA-37 F/A-18E 100 / visible on hangar deck 101/165872 102/165862 103/165866 104/166832 105/166834 106/166836 110/166431 111/166598 or 166607? tbc VFA-213 F/A-18F 200/168890 202/166802 203/166793 204/168891 205/166664 tbc 206/166620 211/166631 212/166633 VFA-31 F/A-18E 300/166837 tbc visible on hangar deck 301/166872 302/166778 305/166781 306/165871 307/(166)783 visible on hangar deck 310/166784 311/165870 312/166786 VFA-87 F/A-18E 400/168910 401/168911 402/168912 406/168916 407/168470 410/169395 411/169396 VAQ-142 EA-18G 501/168775 502/168385 503/168271 504/168392 VAW-124 E-2D 600/169084 visible on hangar deck 601/169231 603/169082 HSC-9 MH-60S 610/168591 614/168540 617/166314 HSM-70 MH-60R 700/168158 701/168125 702/167037 VRC-40 C-2A 45/162168 57/162164 Deck trainer? Nice video which I saw posted on FC.
It doesn’t help with AJ-200 (166890 /168890) although it seems that it may be being confirmed as 168890 as above…

hi, just had a look on FC, for any updates and there's a offical photo of 166890 of VFA102 USS RON REAGAN, taking off and a photo enlargement shows it as 166890 taken on 2022-9-13... So the Fords example "must" be 168890...

Yes it appears to be settled. Which is a shame as 168890 was at Farnborough and Fairford in 2014 and in fact, I first saw it overhead my house in July 2014 en route Farnborough!

hi, another one down, AJ111 is 166607...so it looks like AJ205, and AJ300 (which was visable rhs, of the s'board hangar door near the island, now to be confirmed... a good result, seeing there was no onboard spotting visitors.
