Hi ALL , As the grot weather has once again settled upon us in 'Sunny North Devon' , it is time to drag out those old sighting's questions once again and this could be real puzzler ! It does not help that in my early spotting days I did not keep records but those grey cells sometimes work . I am trying to obtain the c/n and possible location and date for seeing the following . D-EKUM Rhein-Westflug RW-3 Multiplane I would suggest that it was seen during 1960 or shortly after and at Kiddlington . I started during 1959 but did not venture far until at least 1960 or so .
A clip from an Air Pictorial about that time shows D-EFUP c/n 005 at Blackbushe on it's around UK trip . Also from Google I find a picture of D-EKUM at Paris 1957 . There is a forum in German which is not too easy to follow but D-EKUM was the second RW-3 but they ( The Germans ) can not find any official records of it's registration as these were not legal at that time - I think that is what they say ! A troll through the Air Britain cds has not produced a result yet . Finally , no help , I have a photo taken at the time I saw it but that photo has done a runner !!
So if anyone has any thoughts please let me know - it can help these dark nights fly by ...... Thanks . Chrisj

Hi Chris
Not a great deal of help but the database that I use (FreeBird) has this as a Rhein-West-Flug RW-3R Multoplan / Fischer P-75 with a construction number 2 and dated 1957

hi, abpics has 2 photos of this aircraft, one at Le Bourget Paris airshow 1957, no colour b&w photo but a flash on the nose. Its details say c/n 02, the second photo taken on 02/04/2011 red top white bottom. and again c/n 2...Jetphotos show it on 26/7/20 and again c/n 2.
regards, dave...

PlaneBase has D-EFUP with a c/n of 005 but no guarantee that's correct of course. Seeing as Dave and Ray say it's c/n 002, then more likely to agree with that.

Thanks Ray , Dave & Graham . D-EFUP is/was c/n 005 from the Air Pic photo and the Forum which has a list of about ten or there abouts but does not give c/n for them . They also have the photo of' my' one D-EKUM . From what I cam make out from the German translation , at that time Germany was still under various restrictions imposed after WW II and the reference for registrations was some form of Pilot's notices . The aircraft may of been a development from a glider aircraft . Still , the mystery helps the dark days and night go by . Thanks to all . Chris

Chris, apologies, for some reason I read your initial post as reg D-EFUP being the query instead of D-EKUM which according to PlaneBase is the sole example of its type RW3-V2 and carries the c/n V2. This is the production list for the RW3P-75, a few c/n's missing but I suppose it was rather a long time ago.
Series : RW3P-75

Thanks Graham , You mention the RW-3P-75 , from what I could gather off that German forum , My one may of been a RW-3A or something like that , and as modifications were made they added to that designation . The original engine was a motor bike one of 65 hp so I would think the RW-3P-75 has a larger 75 hp engine . I am surprised that there is no record ( so far ) of D-EKUM visiting UK but then again , back in the day there was only Air Britain and Air Pictorial that gave movements and these were nothing like what we expect now days . I think this one will be 'A Work in Progress' for some time . Thanks again Everyone . Chris
