Afternoon. Noted that G-KNDM is no longer on the taxiway adjacent to the A429 - does anybody have any details of its new whereabouts? Many thanks and much appreciated.

It is back on Belfast now....i think it is in the chopping compound awaiting its fate.

Confirmed as in the chopping area between the two 747s. Still carries the false registration, I think.

Many thanks, that's very helpful. Did in fact email ASI as I am trying to plan a visit to see it and it will apparently be staying until February.

Whilst I know I am an old cynic....best not to rely on it being there until Feb. The MK 747 only lasted about 2 weeks once in the chopping area! It might well get chopped sooner.
As an aside.....at least 4 (if not 5) of the TAP 319s are now in the Belfast line beside the Belfast scrapping area.

I'm a little cynical myself so looking to visit in a couple of weeks. I guess the MK was just a waste of space to them, sad as that is, due to its lack of usable parts.
On another note would you happen to know how to access a location which allows photographs of the aircraft on the Belfast Apron from what appears to be roughly in line with the end of the runway, rather than from the A429? I've seen several photographs from there but never really noticed the location in person. Many thanks.

Afternoon letsflybe I've been visiting Kemble for years and unless Graham whitebear can offer any advice, I've never found anywhere that gives a good view of the Belfast apron. The chain link fence on your left as you ascend from the Jackaments entrance on the Tetbury road A433 now has plastic sheeting affixed to it making a shot impossible unless you're either seven feet tall or have a ladder. The layby on the A429 is also hindered by the perimeter fence. The side road which links the A429 to the A433 past Kemble station is too far away to see anything. I suppose you could try yomping across the fields but it's most likely private property and even then, whether you'd see anything let alone get some decent shots remains to be seen. Maybe Mr Bear could take a shot of where everything is next time he's out on a sortie?

The Bear agrees! Cannot think of anywhere other than along the 429. There are several pull ins (mostly farmers gates so beware obstructing them!) along the 429 between the layby and Kemble village. It is possible to get shots from narrower angles almost in line with the runway but...you will be further away.
I guess it might be possible to get into the fields to the left of the 429 (left when heading towards Kemble) to shoot the Belfast but...there arent any paths and these fields will be private so I would not advise it. I have never (and will never) attempt it in view of the privacy issue. You might be able to shoot over the hedge on that side of the road but...remember...the 429 is hellish busy and quite dangerous.
Regular shoots occur in these fields in the undershoot of 26....say no more!
Approaching from the A433 is a no-no as there arent any paths; the fields are private and the Jackaments Bottom entrance fence is now blanked iff by green sheeting, as GB states.

G-KNDM apparently being torn down today. Already missing its G- registration as a certain somebody (yours truly) had a fit of insanity and bought it via ASI two weeks ago!
