..and Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2023 to all AFA members. Another year has flown by in the wink of an eye but at least we've been able to do pretty much as we wish, holidays, days out, airshows and the like. Have a great Festive Season, Bill, Jeff, Mark and myself send our very best wishes.

Hi Folks,
Let me start by saying that I hope all those of you who have been in or out of hospital over the last few days gets fit and well for Christmas and the New Year. There’s never a good time of year but I always find it quite poignant during the Festive season. So good luck and best wishes one and all.
As for 2022, I think it’s been good and bad all wrapped into one… All of the family have made it through unscathed, but we did lose a couple of friends along the way. On the spotting front, 2022 was an absolute blinder. A few trips to Airbus’s at Toulouse and Hamburg, a fantastic summer (weather-wise), which yielded plenty, and two weeks in the United States chasing amongst other things lots of Jeff’s favourite aircraft; Boeing’s. It was a bit of milestone for me and marked my 140th trip to the States.
Needless to say, I’ve had the Best Spotting year, ever!!! I’ll be finishing the year with over 8,000 Frames and over 1,000 scrapes… 2023 won’t be as busy. Only two Airbus trips currently booked to Hamburg, Barbados in February, Italian AF 100th Anniversary in June and I’d like to try and get to Oshkosh… Fingers crossed and hopefully good health, we’ll see….
Best of luck everyone. Merry Christmas and the happiest for 2023.
Bill

My only foreign jaunt was the 12 days in Rhodes in mid September. Whilst Rhodes doesn't provide the aero bonanza that Crete does, it's still pretty decent and if I recall, I came home with around 150 frames, most of which were OTT airliners with a soupcon of biz.
Off to Italy for a three day company meeting in mid January, we fly into Pisa so hoping for a few there. Then, as it's a big wedding anniversary year for us, most likely off to Crete for a couple of weeks of sun, sea, sand, raki and inbounds to Kazantzakis.
