In 2006 and 2007 I made two trips to Chicago and on each trip spent two days at O'Hare logging the movements there. All the frames I logged on all four occasions were in a notebook which I have mislaid. I have recently put all my logs and lists onto Excel but the Chicago logs are the only ones missing. I have Googled for "Chicago spotting groups" and the like in an effort to hopefully find those daily logs but can't find anything. I know some of you guys make regular visits to the US, do you know of any US spotting groups where I just might be able to get those logs from their archives? Thanks very much.

not sure if this is what your looking for as they are pilots I believe, however if you made contact they are "on the group" and in the right area so maybe you will get a lead or two www.meetup.com/flyinghighagain/

Mmm, rather odd, if you're not a pilot, it doesn't really seem to want you, but I signed on anyway and all it seems to want to do is put me in touch with various groups for knitting and book-reading....LOL

hi, I use BTS Airline On Time web site, it gives you the choice of arr-dep's, scheduled/delayed, for specified airlines/airports. If you don't know the site search- dot.gov along the data bar to- Subject Area on the right side click onto- Generate Tables 2nd down- Airline on-time stat's scroll down to 2nd section- Deps or Arr's
Then fill in airport, airline, scheduled or actual dep or arr, date, month, year.
a bit long winded but It give's reg's, if you know all the above, sorry to have wasted your time, Good luck... regards, dave...

Graham, Do not think I have met an American Aircraft Spotter during the twenty odd times I have been to the States- they are more likely as Jeff says aircraft owners. I think our hobby is accepted by the majority although I have encountered checks by the Police in Vegas and more so Orlando- where people have thought I and others were looking suspicious. I do not know if Libhomeradar goes back that far- airport arrivals/departures websites have the type of aircraft used on routes but no registrations. If Daves suggestion includes reg's it is defo one to check. Good Luck Bob

Thanks Bob, the site Dave has kindly given me the link for is exactly what I wanted - I can put in the specific date, and then print off movements by each carrier

Thanks Bob, the site Dave has kindly given me the link for is exactly what I wanted - I can put in the specific date, and then print off movements by each carrier Hi Graham, I use that site all the time after I've been to the states as it's bloody difficult keeping tabs at some of the bigger airports, also if using FR24 for example in the states a lot of the info is gleaned from the FAA and is about 5 mins behind the actual time and hardly shows regs so making a note of wheels on and wheels off time certainly helps. On my last trip in February we met two spotters, one at West Palm Beach who had an airband radio with him, most useful and one at Fort Lauderdale who actually worked for the TSA but he was mostly a photographer but he did collect non US airliners regs.

Thanks Dave, I too met several US spotters at O'Hare on both trips. Although it wasn't specifically a spotting trip, I did spend two full days each time at O'Hare but the logs went AWOL and I was desperate to get the details back somehow. That website has enabled me to put them pretty much back together, only stuff missing is biz but I can live with that.
Thanks again to "guest" Dave, thanks a million.

Dave/Graham, Looks the job that site- what search did you do and exactly where did you look at for the movements- I have a list of flight numbers from Las Vegas in 2011 when I was 60 which I saw taking off over our hotel and would like to check them against this site. Would be grateful for the idiots guide in order to have a look. Back to spotters The only ones I have met in America were Bbritish. Plus the odd Dutch. The most was at Orlando for the NBAA. Happy Days Bob

Bob, I ticked the box that says, " all statistics" so it gives all the info. Then as dave says, choose your airport, choose the month and the date(s) ( it uses the US date system so 5/6 is 6th May, rather than 5th June)and then the year, finally select the airline from the drop down box. You can put in as many dates as you like for any particular month to generate one report but they can be huge, as in my case for United at O'Hare, something in excess of 500 flights per day but all flight numbers are given and in most instances, so are tail numbers.
If you want to print the report off, click "print", it shows on a new page, then "Excel" and it will appear in Excel format. If you don't want all the details, just hightlight what you want, presumably flight number and reg, and on your Excel tabs, click "select print area" then "print" and the report rolls off the printer.
I can't thank Dave "guest" enough, I despaired that I would ever find my logs from those two trips, but this website gives me everything and does go right back twenty years.

Thanks Dave- excellent site thanks for the information. Only downside was AA737's came up as codes instead of registrations. Happy Days Bob hi Bob, I had that problem with some of my aircraft, namely AA with codes on the nose-wheel doors, this was back in 2006 so when I came back I got 2007's AFQR 2007 Worldwide coverage that cover's them. Have not had one since so don't know if still applicable...
regards, dave...
