Another log from this airfield, I'm sure this was when I went with Bill. I know we called in at Westlands, Yeovil on the way down but there's nothing in my log so either I forgot to log anything I needed or just didn't need anything. I'm sure Bill will know. We got talking to this chap in one of the hangars at Dunkeswell who, if I recall, was doing up the Currie Wot and he invited us into one of the portacabins where he showed us a load of wartime photos of the airfield when USAF aircraft were based there.

It was indeed me mate.

That day we visited Yeovilton, where I logged 24 there, Yeovil where we logged just 2, ZZ106 Merlin Royal Norwegian Navy and ZZ550 Wildcat Philippine Navy, Dunkerswell, where I logged 80 and on the way home, Popham, where I logged just 1…

So sounded like quite a good day for me. After 4 years I think I need to re-visit Dunker’s real soon…

As you can see we were indeed given virtually free access to any of the hangars that were open… Super friendly field and I’d seriously recommend the Victoria sponge cake…

Great cake shot Bill!! Wasn't that Turbulent G-BWID the very first production frame? Thanks for the Westlands confirmation, I needed both but for whatever reason, had never logged them.
