A brief 90 minute stopover, whilst on route to the Brentford v Villa game, (courtesy of some free tickets) yielded the following..

Did contemplate a look in on the way back to the ferry, but decided on some grub and a brake, made it on time for the 21.00hrs ferry and rocked up at home about 22.30.. Some of the Villa supporters probably did their round trip quicker than me, and at a fraction of the price too... Probably all in, including free tickets about £160ish.

I haven't been across for a couple of years Chris, I do have three customers on the island and although the company would pay for the crossing, it is a seriously daft price for such a short stretch of water. Last time I took the Red Jet and my customer picked me up from the dock at Cowes.

Hence I don't get to the mainland to often, by the time you pay for the boat and put some tit in the tank, it's a £100 and you haven't moved..
