Evening Folks, Completely by accident this morning I had arranged to have coffee and a bite to eat at BBS. Originally scheduled for 10am we decided to delay it an hour because of the terrible road congestion around the area… Really glad we did, because as we approached the BBS car park this happened in front of us… So she’s finally made it home to BBS. Lots of work to be done but I’m sure Peter and the lads will do a remarkable job… They have so far. Bill

It's arrival at Blackbushe is on the BBC News site. The article doesn't say, but will it be reunited with it's wings and tail?

Seen it in a couple of locations in Austria, but look forward to seeing it once restored, a lot closer to home! Well done to those involved in its return!

It's arrival at Blackbushe is on the BBC News site. The article doesn't say, but will it be reunited with it's wings and tail? Tail (modified at some stage to fold down - possibly for getting under bridges during one of its road journeys back in the day) arrived inside the fuselage, wings, cowlings etc arrived on a separate truck. Took G-AGRW at the cafe in Soesterberg back in 1975. Saw it again later at Vienna Airport then when preserved at the nearby McDonalds. The Austrian Airlines titles which it acquired in Vienna are just faintly visible on Bill's excellent shots. In the 1975 shot G-AHPB is just visible behind GRW. 75-gt by dave tompkins, on Flickr Also there was G-AGRU which was rescued for the Cosford Museum where I graphed her again in 1980. 75-gs by dave tompkins, on Flickr CosfordD2 by dave tompkins, on Flickr Sadly HPB did not survive.
