Vintage Piper Fly In Popham Saturday 27/5/23

Spent a lovely time here for the above mentioned Fly In,it was well supported by visiting pilots and with it being a Bank Holiday weekend as well,there were plenty of overflights and later in the day there were a lot of gliders in the vicinity as it was the start of a gliding championship @ Lasham.Log is from 09.30 - 16.00 local time.

Nice Log David.

I also had a great day this event. I won't bother duplicating a log since you stayed arrived before I did and stayed later. You also seem to get more overflights than me ... too much going on the ground for me to be looking up too often

Slightly disappointed that more of the hangers weren't open but I did manage to 'sticky beak' into a couple for a few new residents in the log ... my last visit was pre-covid. Also two of the hangars by the end of 08 were open just as I was leaving so managed to get in them for the first time and nab the "spitfires" and few more.

All in all a most enjoyable day in great sunshine at one of the most friendly places to visit. I really must try and get back more often.

Hi,one of the reasons that I/We get a lot of overlights is that normally I am with two or three good friends who have airband radios/phones with FR24/ADSB so we get to know in advance what is in the vicinity and with the gliders,photos are taken and blown up to reveal their identities.Also as Popham is our local a lot of the activity is ignored.
