Advice please for next year. Which is best, easiest for spotting a couple of hours a day? Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, Boston.

If it's still open, there's a place in LAX called "The Proud bird restaurant", has quite a few static aircraft on its premises to boot. Spotting is similar to Myrtle ave at LHR but from the comfort of an outside bar maps.app.goo.gl/M9KzqsyiVGgZmeF59

I have never spotted from Washington however have done some at Boston, Miami and LAX. Suppose it depends on whether you are number crunching or photographing. I’m not really into photos I was in Boston in 2015 and spotted from Constitution Beach which gave views across to the airport There were benches to sit on and just watch and log the action. (providing its warm. Not so good in the winter I guess www.nycaviation.com/spotting-guides/bosMiami. I stayed at the Hilton which gave views over one of the runways. Again not brill for photos as there is mesh over the windows and a narrow Balcony from memory. Loads of varying aircraft including lots from South America However with a hire car there are various locations along the runway perimeter to park up. With a car, Fort Lauderdale and Opa Locka among others are relatively close by. www.nycaviation.com/spotting-guides/miaLAX I stayed at H Hotel Curio collection by Hilton which is close to the airport giving excellent views and a fantastic rooftop terrace for spotting. Only downside is its quite expensive. I did a review further down this forum with more details. You can also take a brisk walk to In Out Burger and the park there gives excellent views, similar to Cains Lane at LHR www.nycaviation.com/spotting-guides/laxOut of these 3, personally I would probably go to Miami 1st, LAX 2nd and lastly Boston Hope its of some help Mick

I guess to a degree it depends on what time of the year you intend visiting, I've only done Washington from your list and the last trip was ages ago but there's a park close to National/Ronald Reagan which is fantastic for inbounds/outbounds as I believe they only use the one main runway there anyway. It's 99% domestic stuff, the internationals go to Dulles but it's a great airport to hit into the short haul fleets. It's called Gravelly Point and sits directly to the north of the main runway www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1cy1EuKdYEbZf2agxNLpj2XyHg2I&hl=en&ll=38.8575388238895%2C-77.03988052102663&z=15

Thanks for all your replies. You may have noticed that those airports have A380 service from LHR as i wish to fly on this aicraft. Dubai would be my choice, but my lady friend who is completely blind is not keen due to the heat, so the USA it will be. Just favouring Washington at the moment, but whereever i finish up next year will post a log. Thanks again.
