Another new year, it doesn't seem possible that it was four years ago that the papers and TV news were full of this "potential pandemic" that might well head our way from the far east. It does seem a long time ago now but I remember the doom and gloom being spread around before we even understood what the situation was, rather akin to those fearsome TV ads from the eighties voiced by John Hurt about "this new killer disease" which of course we grew to know as AIDS.
Anyway, enough of that, Happy New Year to everyone, here's hoping for clear skies in 2024.

As it transpires, by that 1 Jan, my wife and I had both already had the virus. The first of 3 times, but each less dramatic after having the jabs.

What stands out in my memory for that time was travelling up to the office and being the only car on the M3!
Only 1 yesterday and i had to rush to the Airport to see it due to the cloud base

Grim news emerging from Tokyo Haneda. At least all on board JA13XJ reported to have escaped, but sadly looks like some on the Coast Guard A109 which seems to have struck it at the end of the 350s landing run may not have been so lucky.

Phil, I avoided it completely until last September when we flew back from Crete and then we both tested postive two days later. My missus also had Covid over Christmas/New Year 2021 although she remained quite well.

Happy New Year all although yet to see a plane let alone log one.
By some miracle I seem to have avoided Covid (touch wood) whilst others around me have had it two/three times.

I know They will not see this but I would like to thank and praise the JAL A350 crew for the way they got everyone off the stricken aircraft with no fatalities . I dread to think what could of happened yesterday as well as what the result might of been in a similar situation on some airlines that I have flown on ! the JAL crew deserve some formal recognition I think . Equally it is very sad for the coast guard crew who lost their lives whilst on a mission to help others in trouble . Just my thoughts . chrisj

I wholeheartedly agree Chris, to get 369 people out from a burning B777 in 15 minutes without any casualties is an amazing job. I guess training and good fortune were smiling down on them all.

Well, 2024 started swimmingly with four straight frames whilst the missus and I were rolling around the house like Weebils with massively distended bellies from ten days' worth of eating and drinking
