hi, just noticed this is due in Biggin today at 1028, bet this raises a few eyebrows on its travels... this brings to mind in past years the British civil registrations avoided these regs, not sure about present times... As you might have guessed i've got a solid cloud base... regards, dave...

Similar lines but also rather different Dave, I pass through Upton-upon-Severn to get to my company's HQ just outside of Malvern and it always raises a titter when I see "Minge Lane" on the left as you leave the town. It's a residential road and the residents presumably feel embarrassed about it as the sign is right at the bottom of the brick wall upon which it's mounted and is often obscured by weeds. I sometimes wonder if it will ever appear on the Manx register...

We get a few but most have 3 Letter Tri-graph callsigns,ATC
G-MINJ DA42 uses LDGxx OH-FUK PC-12 uses FSFxxxx (ALTHOUGH we often think this when another PC-12 wants to join Controlled Air Space)
SOLD or gone
D-ILDO PA-42 SE-FUK P68
The CAA did/does not have that type of registration, but then again they did have VD .......SORRY G-AVDX HS125

The CAA were very prudish about regs. I recall a talk by the late Peter Underhill, then chair of the PFA, about registering his FW190 homebuild G-FOCK. Despite assuring them the registration would not be externally displayed it took a long time to convince them. He went on to say that in comparison two toy balloons G-PDON and G-RDON were fine. 🤣
