With February only having 29 days once every 4 years I doubted I had photographed anything on that day in the past. However I find that I did in 1976 and again in 2000. That day in 1976 saw Doug Arnolds's Meteor at Blackbushe (which I subsequently graphed at the Belgian show at Koksyde in 2011 restored to its original scheme). Also at Blackbushe was Macair Islander G-BDJY which came to a sticky end courtesy of Hurricane Hugo in Puerto Rico in September 1989 as N8491B. I was in Washington DC at the time of that Hurricane (the temperature at Dulles fell by 20 degrees in 4 hours as the Hurricane approached) and lost out on the open house at NAS Oceana which was cancelled at very short notice as a result of that Hurricane but fortunately as it veered away I was able to get to the show at McGuire, New Jersey the next day. Up the road at Fair Oaks on 29.2.76 when I still collected light aircraft were this Comanche and Auster. 76-ak by dave tompkins, on Flickr IMG_4218 by dave tompkins, on Flickr 76-al by dave tompkins, on Flickr 76-ala by dave tompkins, on Flickr 76-alb by dave tompkins, on Flickr Can no longer remember why, but on this day in 2000 I flew from Brussels to Oslo and then on to Stockholm. Stockholm produced this Skyways Fokker 50 while a snowy Oslo had the Golden Air Saab, the Air Botnia F28 and the Braathens 737. 00-jq by dave tompkins, on Flickr 00-jn by dave tompkins, on Flickr 00-jo by dave tompkins, on Flickr 00-jp by dave tompkins, on Flickr
