I drive past BD 2 or 3 times a week but have never really sussed out the best place to see what's going on. Whereabouts do you go? Cheers

Evening Graham. I'm usually arriving via the A303 and take the lane towards Allington which brings you to the car park marked H on the Thunder and Lightning site. If you walk a short way up the track you can climb up the bank which can give a better view of the apron but as you are next to the fence I don't hang around while doing this and it is obviously dependent on what's parked where. The Grobs, if present, are nearest to you at this point and can usually be read quite easily. The helicopter hanger on the south side and surrounding apron are difficult to read off anything unless they arrive or depart overhead. I never take photos at Boscombe and there signs warning you not to do so although people do by crossing the road to the east and walking along the track. Aircraft are still very close when on finals. Nigel

One to watch for is C30J ZH866 which made its first flight 27/05 since it arrived back in the UK in December following its major avionics upgrade by Lockheed Martin
