Gents, as mentioned earlier, I did manage to save several pages of Peter's epic "history" thread before the plug was pulled. I had intended beginning a new forum with a different host and had copied over this content until I realised that this particular host offered nowhere near the level of options and services that Proboards offer plus of course, we are all familiar with the way Proboards work. Here are the first 6-7 pages (300 or so posts) of Peter's work, including dialogue and replies. It might only be a small fraction of his entire work but there are nevertheless hundreds of photos from the early days of his posts. It's way too much to copy across to here just now so please use this link to read at your leisure ukaviationenthusiasts.createaforum.com/blackbusheraf-hartford-bridge/history-of-blackbusheraf-hartford-bridge/

Hi Graham,
Just looked at that link - which is BRILLIANT mate, just a great shame you couldn't have saved more, but there is quite a lot there...
Hopefully Peter will be inspired to add a few more photo's and anecdotes over the coming weeks... I've known Peter for almost 30 years and I still can't believe that he would have said anything to either offend or expect the reaction from the 'owner' of the old site... Peter is a fantastic bloke and I've had the privilege of working closely with him back at Northwest. He's honest, sincere and above all very compassionate about aviation. He seriously does not deserve the treatment dished out by the 'owner'. The Blackbushe history that Peter has delivered has, in my opinion, bought back so many memories and countless hours of enjoyable reading...
I hope the 'owner' is proud of what he's achieved.... The total DESTRUCTION of his beloved Farnborough site!!!
Good luck to AVIATION FOR ALL...
Bill

Thanks very much Bill, like you, I mourn the fact that I had so little time once we had an inkling that the FAB forum was in demise, and could save no more than I did. But something's better than nothing and I bet a pound to a penny that a certain FAB forum administrator is chewing his own arms off that we have this initial section of Peter's work here

Suppose I've got to buy the next round of coffee after all that?? Actually a gathering should be arranged soon for those of a like minded disposition.
Bill, you'll see from notes written earlier today that this chap Brown is working on a new forum that will be simply 'Blackbushe'... A project that should encase Blackbushe in a one-stop environment, history, current and crystal ball reports. Working with Flyboy as the co-pilot, the new enterprise will host a reborn "Photo of the Day" and hopefully be a source of general interest to the passer by who wants to learn more about this wonderful airfield known as Blackbushe. Not just the passer by, hopefully all with a modicum of interest in north-east Hampshire's old airport will pop in and pay their respects - and by that I mean pop in and just that - no demands at all, although comments will always be welcome. Blackbushe used to be known as the 'Happy Airport' amid its staff in the fifties, hopefully the new forum will carry their spirit along with it?
The book idea has crashed thanks to 'publisher knows best', so hopefully the new forum will cater for what might have gone on the bookshelves. How it develops in the fullness of time, only time will tell, but this chap Brown will have to live up to the glowing testimony that appeared just now.
The photo you have just shown with my, "Airlines of Blackbushe Airport" sign on its unveiling day shows two things..(a) it was raining and (b) the power that can be released from running a thread in a forum. Without "Photo of the Day" such a magnificent product would never have been achieved thanks to one Mr Mike Biddulph. Nobody is going to take that away...they'll have a job!
Finally, the new forum will be very much a partner to "Aviationforall" where friendly co-operation will be the keywords.
Much to be done with the new forum, future events at Blackbushe, and simply keeping the spirit of Blackbushe alive and well...
Enough, I must head to Sainsbury's - a chaps got to eat!!

Thanks Graham, nicely done,
Good luck PB with the new forum, you will have many followers and it's great to see you rising above this tragedy and moving forward just like the old Blackbushe Airport did all those years ago.

Thanks eddie & pete, it's not much compared to the whole but still a pretty hefty read as and when you have the time.
