Wasn't certain what section to put this in as Guernsey is not in the EU but I suppose it's still part of the United Kingdom. This event is slightly different to other rallies in that most off the visitors arrive on the Ist day,the 2nd day is put aside for any late arrivals and a navigation competition and a lot of social events take place in between and the third day is departure day, also the event is limited to approx 65 entries which have to book in advance.
Last year one of my very good friends Rob Belcher had attended the Jersey Air Show where he had met Bob LePage of the Guernsey Aero Club where the plans for our visit were first talked about,we had decided just to do the first two days as nothing was expected on Sunday and also Guernsey Airport itself isn't very busy so on Friday 19th June, myself Rob and another good friend of ours Martin Harbor all met at my place and Martin drove us down to Southampton Airport for our 08.30 flight to Guernsey today operated by Blue Islands ATR 72 G-ISLI which was a great start as it was my last one, only other aircraft noted was PC12 M-ICKY,some 45 minutes later we were in Guernsey and we made our way to where the rally aircraft were being parked,Bob opened up the gate and advised us to do what we wanted but to make sure that we didn't go past the bollards and onto the live taxyway.
The following aircraft attending the rally were noted and are in order as seen:
