Las Vegas McCarran
Staying in the Tropicana hotel, ask for a room overlooking the Airport, I was on the 6th which was fine but the higher maybe better for views. From the window all movements can be seen…an SBS would pick everything up (I didn’t take mine ) The Janet Ramp is directly out of the window and all but one 737s were seen during the week. The biz park down the MGM end was just visible from the 6th floor. Helicopter flight dept towards the hotel and the strip so you will see most of those as well.
The biz park down by the “vegas” sign is about a 5 min drive and no hassle was given in my numerous visits on the brekkie Mcdonalds run or other times during the day. If you haven’t got transport its quite a trek especially in the heat.
The official viewing area (on the opposite side of the airport) is ok but photos are a problem due to the fence and heat haze.
