The plane, an Md-90 carrying 168 people, was travelling from Minneapolis, in Minnesota, to Las Vegas in Nevada when the door of the cockpit malfunctioned, officials have revealed. The incident took place at midday yesterday. The aircraft's first officer took over control and successfully landed the flight at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Sky News reports. A spokesman for the airport said the incident was being taken "very seriously." The plane's captain informed the passengers on the situation as it unfolded. A round of applause broke out on the plane when the aircraft landed safely at 12:30pm. Blinking lucky the First Officer knew how to land the MD90!
